Okay. This got a lot of attention when we ran RR50 in 2012. Yesterday was RR2013 and not one of the trio who ran RR50 in 2012 made it. We have all talked about it, so I want to start the thread. We have a year. Who is in? RR 100, 2014.

He did a great job crewing me last time, he might be too valuable to be out there stumbling around in the woods!
Yeah, he was great. I'm not sure if he runs a lot these days though.

It will sell out early. You need to sign out when it posts. Why would you wait?

So, I was talking some trash about coming down for Rocky in 2013.... but there was a very good reason I needed to wait! I needed to wait until mid-october because that's when I find out my spring teaching schedule. If I had to teach until 3PM on Friday, then there's no way I'd have made it to Rocky on time. After it sold out so quickly, it all became a moot point.

I understand that. I have a "busy season" at work and know when I sign up for races something may come up. The good thing about Tejas Trails is they usually have a pretty liberal refund policy, and especially RR where there is a waiting list. Hopefully we will get a good turnout. I THINK Chaser is mulling it too.

I have trouble with commitments...and planning...and arriving on time, injury free...and it's sooooo far....

Actually, I think we might have another turn around scheduled at work of the beginnings of 2014. Not entirely sure ill be able to make it, but as soon as I know for sure one way or another ill make my decision.

Either way I'm going to train as if I'm already signed up.

Well, I sure hope it works out that you can! It seems our work schedules are opposite! The spring of every odd-numbered year keeps me at work most weekends and a lot of nights, but the rest is pretty free. So I guess if I am going to be injured, the spring of an odd-numbered year works out the best... Which means I will plan for an EPIC Fall 2013/Spring 2014. Really in the fall of 2014 I start getting busy to get ready for the spring of 2015... but it is not that bad.

I just hope Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon is still around for me in 2016 without getting too over-commercialized.

I think I'll try RR as my first 100. My plan right now is to hopefully run El Scorcho 50K in the summer, build up to Cactus Rose 50M in October, then work to RR 100 in February, maybe with Bandera 100k in January as a training run? Then that spring should be the best time for me for R2R2R since it will be 2014. I'm gonna skip the smaller distance races. My first race back from taking time off was a 5K and I tried to go all out on it and I think that REALLY set me back a bit.

Anyhow, all that to say, I hope our stars align.

Well the issue at my job right now is that I'm in a plant with operating units that are over 50 years old and don't have very much information as far as inspection histories go, so since the company that now owns it is realizing that it needs some overdue attention (aka, shits blowing up on a monthly basis) they decided that we should start doing some real deal turn arounds. So we brought down our big unit last September for a 4-6 week turn around that ended up lasting 4 months. Now their looking at bringing the much smaller, yet older and in much worse condition, unit down in January next year for a "4-6 week" turn around again. Hopefully this time they learned from their mistakes last go round and will do things right the first time and it will only last 6 weeks at most.... But I highly doubt it.

Luckily the money working 7-12's for 4 months straight is pretty nice!

Hopefully things work out in our favor, and they don't sell out in under 30 minutes again....
