This is the reason for my semi-absence for the last month...

I've been toiling away on this for several months, but the last few weeks have been crazy-busy. It's going to be a significant improvement... I'll share the details as soon as I can!

DUDE! Can I hack up s'more shoes and get a REVISED edition!?!?!?! ;oP

Rock on!

 Awesome!!  Are these the

Awesome!! Are these the ones I get to sell in my studio?

Now THAT's what I'm talking

Now THAT's what I'm talking about! ;-)

Fantastic LP, can't wait to

Fantastic LP, can't wait to pick up a copy of the audio. I'm working up some mileage and will be looking to listen to some good books:)

Nice cover! So this should

Nice cover! So this should mean that my autographed "first edition" is worth more money now, right?

Keep up the good work.

 Oh, oh.  Can you autograph

Oh, oh. Can you autograph the first edition copy I have for the Kindle app on my iPod Touch?

The first one was very good,

The first one was very good, though. Even though I wasn't one of the contributors to your book, I noticed a point here or there that I think I was the first to bring up over at RW, and I could certainly see the fingerprints of the RW forum as a whole all over that book. Even if you didn't mean to, I felt kinda included. Fantastic job; I have every confidence the second edition will be every bit as good.

When can we get our hands on

When can we get our hands on a copy, Jason... Those details you promised, we're ready for them ;-)

Andy- I already have a copy

Andy- I already have a copy reserved for you. ;-)

Greg- yes... a lot of the ideas were forged in the conversations from Runners World last summer. The original "Lose the Shoes" plan posted on the sticky over there was the backbone to the first edition. The second edition contains all that text with minor editing, plus added sections on:
  • Diet
  • Hydration
  • Spouses
  • Ultras
  • A completely revised cross training section
  • A 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon training plan
  • Pictures
  • updated "injuries" section
  • Running on treadmills
  • Iskiate (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
  • How to deal with bad runs
  • Running with others
  • Barefoot runners you should know
  • Contributions from many people in the field, including Rick, Ted, Ken Bob, Dr. Lieberman, Dr. Nirenburg, Dr. Froncioni, Dr. Scott Hadley, Al Gauthier and Tina DuBois of Living Barefoot, Runswithpit, TJ, Tuck from Ted's Google group, UrbanSage, Dama, and several others
It expanded from 61 pages to about 180 pages. I maintained the simplicity of the original, but added a lot of general running tips and specific barefoot tips. Best of all- I maintained the same $14.95 price.

For those of you that bough the first- this version is much better, but doesn't contain too much info you don't already know. If you bought the first, your money would be better spent buying Sandler's book or Daniel Howell's excellent "The Barefoot Book".

The first edition will not be continued... there were 1,700 printed.

Nate- yes, this is the version I will be sending you as soon as I get them back. I have a much more ambitious marketing plan for this one. If anyone has a blog or website and is interested in an affiliate program, it is something I am considering. If you are interested, shoot me an email at robillardj "at" gmail "dot" com.

You're such a slacker. ;)

But seriously... I'm definitely going to have to get a copy.

I would like to do a raffle

I would like to do a raffle here at my office the week after Labor Day to raise money for my Running Bare (foot) for Breast Cancer challenge. My plan was to raffle off Born to Run and your book. Should I buy a first edition, or will this one be available in time?
