Well I got about 4miles in on Sat. after work bad part was that having to run in shoe while in the army weakens the feet abit was running fine then realized that my feet weren't as strong as they used to be, the last mile and the pavement I was had to run down was alot hotter the second time across as it being alittle after noon time got to big blisters on my feet from it. I used to run hot pavement all the time and was used to it but the last bit made me realize that I got some biulding up to do again. might have to wait a few days for the blisters to go down some cause them suckers take the whole foresole of my foot. But on that note what dosen't kill us makes us stronger and lessons learned not having run barefoot for 2 monthes then jumping back in right where you left off isn't the best idea.

Got any pictures?  We love

Got any pictures? We love blister pictures around here. We'll, I do anyway. ;-)

I try to snap a shot tonight

I try to snap a shot tonight and post it after I get home from work. I shoulda flim myself using my gandma's method of fixxing a blister involves a good pair of shears.

That'd be good too.  NOT!

That'd be good too. NOT! Well...not sure anyway. ;-)

Is this the post for the w/e

Is this the post for the w/e 08/1/2010?

Anyway, 19.31 miles this week.

Of that 19.31 miles, I tried my first 6 mile run, but had to stop and walk (hobble) after 4 miles. I am not sure why I wasn't able to make it. It was after work, and I am in the military and had to wear boots all day long, but I made sure and waited a while so that my feet weren't "moist" and soft. Also, it was pretty hot out, and I think I might have been at a slightly faster pace when I was running on the sidewalk, but I thought for sure I could do 6 miles. I did 6.23 three days later...then 7.08 three more days later.

Thank you for your service to

Thank you for your service to our country.

This is Ralph's personal mileage thread. I think there is one for week ending July 31/August 1. If not, please feel free to make one.

I just started running on

I just started running on Saturday...AND

I ran barefoot for the first time this week:

1.25 on Sunday

.48 on the treadmill Monday (in socks...)

1.0 Tuesday

1.0 on Wednesday

1.0 on Thursday

4.73 total miles this week of which

4.25 were barefoot

(I am on a base in Afghanistan and everyone gives me funny looks)

But someone did tell me they overheard a group of people talking about that "crazy guy who runs barefoot"

I like crazy guys who run

I like crazy guys who run barefoot! You just tell them there's a whole bunch of us crazies who run barefoot...wouldn't know it if it weren't for the Internet though, right? Also, tell them the numbers of people in the military running barefoot is really picking up; in fact, we have several BRS members in the miltiary here at the BRS. Also, Victor Palma is the Secretary here at the BRS, and he's a Major in the Air Force. You should feel right at home here. Again, thank you for your service to our country. Sounds like your mileage is coming along nicely, slowly but surely as it should.

Well got about a mile and a

Well got about a mile and a half this past sat. building my feet back slowly this time staying more to the wooded trails and very little on payment as its got to be around 300 degrees and doesn't feel to good on my now tender feet. But hopefuly they come in tougher than they were. Would try running a treadmill but can never seem to stay on one more than 2 mins. hate feeling like a hamster in a cage running on a lil wheel going NOWHERE can't stand it. Still gotta find someone to run with though snake are bad down here stepped on a non poisonous one saturday startled the hell out of me thought was going to get bit by a cotton-mouth and have no way to get help, then realized it was only a racer.

I've only come across one

I've only come across one snake while running here in Georgia. It was crossing my path (or I was crossing its), and at the very last moment, I noticed it and hurled over it! My heart was pounding. I think its was too, because it slithered into a hole really quick and was gone when I turned around.

Well this past week I got all

Well this past week I got all together about 4 miles barefoot and 15 miles in my feelmax osma's being able to wear them for PT I get to run more with less and cuts down on my barefoot time but I still get a more natural run these days.
