I've started a new blog. I may not do a good job of updating it regularly, but I figured I'd give it a go. It's a work in progress. The overall format/design is still not quite what I want but it will do for now.

My second entry is about minimal everyday footwear.

It shows the success I had getting a pair of Target sandals resoled and my latest beaded foot jewelry.

Peace,

Karen

Karen, offer stills stands.

Karen, offer stills stands. We would like to create a Shop tab and sell items like footlets, anklets, temporary tattoos, huaraches, paper feet, etc. You could make them on a pre-order basis. Please think it over, and email me back at [email protected] with your thoughts. Thanks.

Awesome job Karen! How did

Awesome job Karen! How did you manage to resole the sandals? Was it hard to do?

oh, and I'd be all over the

oh, and I'd be all over the foot jewelry if you had a shop...time permitting for you ;)

 Alternatively, you might

Alternatively, you might consider providing those interested with "instructions" on how you made some of your foot jewelry. The ones I've seen don't look especially complex, but I'm sure others could benefit from what you've learned: e.g. what materials work best, how and where to place fasteners, sizing ideas, etc. All of your foot jewelry that I've seen looks very sharp, elegant, and even professionally made.

TJ -- I appreciate the offer,

TJ -- I appreciate the offer, but I just don't have the bandwidth.

Zumba -- I had the sandals professionally resoled. It's not something I did myself. It was more expensive than I had hoped, but I did it as kind of an experiment. I wanted to try the first time with a pair of inexpensive shoes in case it didn't work well. Now I have an idea of what's possible and can keep this option in mind when shoe shopping. It should come in handy when I need a shoe for a more formal occasion.

Greg -- Good idea. I'll keep that in mind for a future blog entry.

Peace,

Karen

Instructions would be great.

Instructions would be great. I belong to a fiber arts lunchtime group (knitting, beading, etc) and would like to take this on as my next project. I would love to do ones that would hold up to running, though.

I was offering you our

I was offering you our bandwidth, Karen, but I guess I'm going to have to start making them myself then and selling them here on the BRS. Just another hat I guess I will have to wear.

I got the feeling that Karen's use of the word "bandwidth" was metaphorical. As in she doesn't have enough extra bandwidth in her life to add another project without the current ones suffering. Just my take, though.

I see, it is nice to know

I see, it is nice to know that you can have them resoled in the future. That does open up the door for more shoe opportunities, minimal shoes are so limited right now.

TJ, wish I could help you on this one. I attempted a barefoot sandal and it was pretty pathetic. I think Cali said that she gave them a shot, maybe she'd be interested?

Greg, I got that too ;)

Our bandwidth meant any

Our bandwidth meant any support we could offer. All of our resources at your beck and call. You make 'em, we sell 'em, that sort of thing.

Cali is making some for us, once she settles down from her move. I would still like to have a few artisans though, not just one. I have big dreams for a barefoot runners store.

I sure wish I could help you

I sure wish I could help you TJ, I'll do some searching around and if I come up with crafty individuals making foot jewelry..I'll keep you posted. Perhaps, I could ask Niki (who sells the huaraches on etsy?)

Sounds good to me, Zum.
