About
Barefoot newbie
I've been running for the most of my life. I grew up in a small town with forest and the sea near by. I wasn't a dedicated to road, trail or cross country, i just ran.
For some reason i ended up running mostly on the road and did so for many years. In fall 2012 i discovered a mountainbike track near my home and some of my exixting routes and one day i made a left turn and found not only the track but also what i'd call heaven.
Trail running is amazing... i also learned that the forefoot strike (compared with heel strike) works like magic on the winding track, and i decided to make the change.
Forefoot running, Chi running, Natural running, Barefoot running, etc. new words in my running life. I trashed my old shoes and went shopping for new ones, and went out on a 10K with my new 0 mm drop shoes. I'm not the fastest learner so 2 days later i ran another 10K in the same pair. By then i'd figured out the meaning of a slow approach.
After a run in early april i took of my shoes and ran 500m barefoot. I had signed up for Copenhagen Barefoot on 05.05.13 and by then i was capable of running the distance in minimalist shoes. I aim at running barefoot next year.Interact
