In January 2018, at the age of 47, I started to strenghten my feet and calves with a few exercises. In 10 days I felt great, like a I had good legs, and I felt like walking all the time. Then after a month I bought a pair of minimal shoes and that changed my life, because I could walk for hours and would come home not feeling tired at all, even if I smoked tobacco and weeds for some decades. I felt young again, and as the months went by I felt so good that I started cutting down the antidedressor (which took me two years to finally come to zero), then I gave up the joints and some months later the cigarrettes.
I started running barefoot in September 2018, and the truth is I had quite a few little injuries. Then on my very first competition after 30 years I got injured more seriously (waiting for medical confirmation it looks like a osteocondral lesion of the right talus). All these injuries came from going too fast too soon, and now that I'm on my way to recovery I'm looking for help --desperately, because the barefoot philosophy changed my life and I truly love it, but so many injuries and especially this last one are making me doubt; and Dr. Lieberman's thesis stating that we humans are incredible endurance runners is the only truth I've found in my life.
