How did it all become so complicated?

I guess what I am getting at it, and noticing, is the new crop of barefoot runners that are now emerging seem to be really struggling with barefoot running, this is just my personal view from reading barefoot running forums.

I wonder if this is due to the difference in the amount of people who are getting interested? A few short years ago, every once in a while someone new popped in and say they are starting barefoot; now it seems that there are so many "noobs" that there are bound to be those who are more interested in the minimalist aspects than the barefoot aspects.

My unedumicated, non research doing self would bet that the % of new barefooters to new minimalists are very simialiar as they have been, the volume is just larger.

Plus, there's more to talk about when you wear shoes. When you're barefoot all there is to talk about is gravel, beer and those cool birds with blue feet...

Stop! Ha!

"Cool birds with blue feet" is a perfectly acceptable term here. ;)

It was acceptable here, in the beginning, as long as it wasn't every other word. Geez. We got some complaints from some of the ladies asking us to quiet it down. A casual use was no big deal, but every other comment? I can't please everyone, although I try.

How about we get a blue footed bird smiley, then every time one of you guys has the urge to say that B-word, you just insert the smiley instead? Funny? No?
