ran with jason robillard tonight. after i had three beers. black butte porter by deschutes, my favorite. widmer brr seasonal ale, and rogue shakespear oatmeal stout. ate a cold kobe burger also.
Are you still whining about that burger Mike? I had a Rogue Dead Guy Ale, and a Widmer Seasonal something or other. Love the Dead Guy but the Widmer Seasonal was lacking.
Got some Rahr Stormcloud IPA. Rahr is an up and coming brewery out of Fort Worth and I really like everything they do. It is a bit lighter feeling than something like the Sierra Nevada Double IPA so I like it when i want something hoppy but lighter.
Wille, I travel to Germany every 5 years with my family to visit my wife's relatives. We stay in Schliersee and I try to do as much trail running/hiking and beer drinking as possible. My wife's uncle serves me Hopf weissebier and Holzinger hellbier. We like to hike over the hills and have a few at the Tegernsee Bräustüberl. Hopefully we make it over in 2013 or 2014. I learned on my first trip 20 years ago to take it very easy in the beer tents. More than 2 liters will put an American down and out.
Speaking of Germany, bier and not pacing yourself....I threw up on the bus on the way TO Oktoberfest in Munchen in 1999. I continued to drink once we got there, because I'm not a punk...but I definitely don't remember most of the people in the pictures my buddy took. The day ended perfectly however. We got into a fight with a couple of locals over some steins but the Polizei didn't arrest anyone. That's a win-win. That was also when Germany was still using the Deutsche Mark and the US dollar went far there.
I've been told I am officially an alcoholic by my significant other... hmmm. So maybe tonight I will drink water, or maybe that Ranger IPA calling for me, I mean water...
Just finished up midterms today, and the gas station off campus has a sale on Budweiser. Therefore, I shall be drinking Budweiser. I would also like to complain that every year there is always that one professor that makes an assn due the day we get back from spring break, yay linear systems!!!!
