What do you do for a living, if you care to share?

Alejandro: Better to do that than pay it, right? I was just telling my wife I am thinking about going on past my masters just to delay paying my loans for a while.

TJ, and other IE haters... I hate it too. I like Chrome on my netbook at home, but at work we have to use IE and that is what I often check in on. No issues yet really for me on the new forum.

I AM pregnant. I just hit 11 weeks, so we aren't sure the gender yet. I've been struck by HORRIBLE morning sickness and haven't been able to run at all. I can't wait until I'm feeling better so that I can begin to run again. I've missed it!

Congratulations is going to be a girl!!!!!(guessing of course)

Welcome Anne! you're going to like it in here!

Yeah, what really hurts is I am going in to talk with the graduate program coordinator about provisional admission. My wife has an interview this week with the department she is applying to for PhD work at the same school. I didn't get in, so basically, I am going to offer to pay for (i.e. loan my way through) the first year of a degree that I should be paid to earn. Last year we were separated for 7 months for academic purposes, and unless I am studying abroad because it is required by my PhD program, we don't want to have to go through that again!

I know I graduated with a masters in chemical and bioprocess engineering and environmental management. That was fun for a while working on a plant with several thousand tonnes of toxic, flammable, unstable materials.

Now? It's kind of hard to explain, but it tends to involve oil, gas and other things that go bang. When I work it out I'll let you know.

All I know is that I get to ride in helicopters, drive around the the deep Sahara in a 4x4, stage out of Indonesian Islands to go offshore, go to West Texas, Beaumont Texas, Puget Sound in Washington, Aberdeen and anywhere in between. I might even work out myself why I love my job someday.

My husband and I own and operate a company that values businesses (this pays the bills). When unchained from my stand up desk, I make soap, carve nonfunctional wooden spoons, and build mobiles. I'm also restoring a 1974 Karmann Ghia. www.two-bears.com!

I am Mr Mom now but I was

I am Mr Mom now but I was trained for combat and how to kill as 11B (Infantry) and as a squad marksmen (sharpshooter) by the US Army which does not translate too well now, other than planning how to clear my own home and protect my family if someone has broken in, or how to defend my home should I need to. I learned how to fast rope out of choppers, rock climb, set up claymores and mines, all about fatal funnels, urban warfare, shooting accurately out over 800 meters, and more. All of this is mostly useless knowledge now though unless we as a country end up going through a revolution or civil war. Maybe when my 14 year old daughter starts dating it may come in handy too. I am currently in school full time trying to retrain myself. I have no real passion that will support the family financially so I am just getting a boring business degree...
Ahhh Nick, so you finally settled on something -settled literally. Not to be a party pooper...but my husband has been a business manager for (how old am I?) 25 years. Why did my font suddenly go bold? Anyway, business has been a "need an MBA to get anywhere" degree now for a decade. Just can't win, eh? Sigh. So how are good eating habits going? Have you had any nightmares about vegetables lately? Lol.

I should have shared too.

I should have shared too. Before I became a stay at home mom 10 YEARS AGO, I worked in IT as a Network Administrator. Yes, I'm a geek. I will say my job now as a mom is much harder than the 80 plus hours a week I used to put in. This job is 24/7! And I wouldn't change it for all the world.
Yay SAHMs!

The trench coat suits you.

Me, I'm a college drop out. Currently unemployed and my options are either get a job flipping burgers or something equally stimulating or going back to school in the fall. Don't know which I'd prefer at this point.
Sheep herder? :)

I am easily bored so I have three jobs. My primary job is as a caregiver to the elderly. My secondary job is as a substitute instructional assistant for special needs children. My third job is as an art model -yep I'm that person that stands around naked for art classes and photographers. o_O

For a living I talk to people about their trees and then come up with plans to do what needs to be done. I spend some of my time actually climbing and doing the work and training my team to do it safer and faster.

I forget now but guess I was trained as a Philosopher. These days I mostly think about how to get my runs in around a grueling "Daddy" / fishing / work schedule.

Jen, I did the model thing for 3 years in college. It can be hard work! No fooling! I remember holding a pose and just streaming sweat. Paid well, though.

I did finally settle on a school direction. The good eating habits have turned into just better eating habits. I am still only eating fruits for breakfast, but lunch I am eating just healthier and not just salad and veggies. Dinners are the same as I had been doing while during the diet. I just don't like enough veggies to have much variety and I git bored eating same thing everyday.
