Hi guys. Need your advice regarding the attached shoes that I am trying right now. As I am waiting for my Vibram (stucked in transit), I have tried my beach running shoes for road running the day before for 10k run. As I tried to to barefoot on road previously which went very very bad for me due to small pebbels on the road and severe pain in skin for 2 days, therefore I was doing my runs barefoot on grass only recently.
So to get back on road, I though of using my beach running shoes (very cheap and minimalist type).

I tried these and felt ok without any visible pain. But I want to take suggestions from the experienced people here as I am still transitioning from shoes to barefoot and have no experience if this experiment is good for me or not.

Pic attached below.

Please suggest should I continue in these until Vibram 5 figures arrive or not ?

Thanks in advance

I should have recommended water shoes/aqua socks when we last posted about this. And yes, they are a good choice, second to socks, for minimalist running in my opinion. Minshoes are good for terrains that are impossible for most people to run on and in times when the weather is too hot or too cold and could injure you. I also prefer people who are truly struggling with running barefoot after giving it a real try for a period of time to run in minshoes because I would rather see people running in something healthy on their feet than giving up and running with boat anchors on their feet.

Honestly, though, if you really want to run barefoot, it's best to ditch the footwear altogether and run barefoot. Those pebbles you are encountering are actually good teachers of proper and gentle running form, and grass can be dangerous, since you can't see what is lurking beneath the surface; a hole could turn an ankle, a shard of glass could cut you.

Let us know if you give barefoot running another try.

Thanks for your reply. Yes indeed my first preference is to go totally barefoot. Recently the outside temperature we are experiencing is almost near 50 degrees, so until it goes below 40, I will try in these aqua shoes and waiting for my vibram to arrive (dont know when). atleast using Aqua, I can go for road runs and keep my feet moving for time being. But I am planning to do small barefoot leaps on road in between to check. Will keep you updated with progress.

You're talking celsius, right?

Yup its Celcius and we are melting ..
Sorry about that. It gets miserable in the heat. I hate the humidity too.
