How do you clean your feet?!

Just bought new carpet, my spouse has an Irish heritage, and I’m not brave enough to defy the dirty feet ban.

My preference is soap and green pot scrubbers. For convenience sake though I use these when waters unavailable or I’m rushed...

...one does both feet quickly and conveniently.

just water & soap on the shower, but I don't rub them like hell to make them look like I didn't happen: yes, I've run barefoot! :D

oops! edit: my first message here? I should say HI then
Welcome! Finally! :) :barefoot:

I like all the different advice on here. In the days when I was barefoot almost all the time, I never could get that black asphalt stuff off my feet. It would just wear off over time, during the winter when I wasn't barefoot.

Apologies if this has been posted and discussed already; I did a search but didn't seem to find it.

How do you clean your feet after barefoot running!?
I've only done 4 barefoot runs so far (max. about 2/3 of a mile). I run around inside the gated community where I live on black asphalt road, which is really smooth (which I read is good to start on?), and all is going well so far.
However, my feet get really dirty black after running and I can't get it off!! I guess it's a combination of general dust and dirt, rubber from car tires?, even drops of oil etc on there?!
My feet have always been quite sweaty (I guess this forum is one place talking about sweaty feet is ok..?!), which I think makes stuff stick to them.
Any tips on how to clean your feet after running??
Thanks!

I run on tar roads, my feet get black as well, but I find warm water and soap in the shower gets them clean. The side roads I run on near my house is in a suburb so they don't get heavy traffic, so they are not resurfaced all the time, like the freeway by my house is, my feet get a little black but not too black.

If your feet get really black maybe try washing them with dish scrub and handy andy.
(Not sure about the health implications of this, you better do research on it)

I wear closed shoes for work so even if my feet got really black it wouldn't matter as they would clean the second night in the shower.

What worried me more about starting bare feet running is that I thought my feet would become hard and horrible, but after I bare feet run and I finished washing my feet I put moisturizing cream on my feet and sleep with socks on.

What you could also try is after you shower/bath rub some shampoo on your feet and put socks on, shampoo softening your feet if you rub it on your feet but in your case it might actually clean feet as well lol.

I would say soak your feet in jig detergent but that is not good for your health. Too much contact with intake jig detergent I believe has been linked to cancer.
