IT'S TIME TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE
2019 IBRD TEE SHIRT DESIGN!!!!

2019 International Barefoot Running Day™

Expires Friday, March 15, 2019, Noon, EST.

The 9th Annual International Barefoot Running Day™ will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019!

The "design phase" of the tee shirt contest is complete. It's was touchy there for a moment, as I was worried that we wouldn't have anyone contributing, but at the latter moments, we had two wonderful submissions.

It's now time to vote for your favorite.

We will let this contest run for one week, then we will announce the winner.

After the winner has been determined, the winning design will appear in our "international" store where you can make your purchase (https://www.thebarefootrunners.org/library-articles/international-brs-zazzle-store-links.27/). They have micro tech shirts too! Remember, your purchase will go to fund your club!

Don't forget! The winner gets a tee shirt with their winning design on it and a pair of Xero Shoes of their choice from the awesome folks at Xero Shoes. The runner-up will get a DIY huarache kit from Xero Shoes too! Thanks go out to Lena & Steven from Xero Shoes and all the contestants.

The winning design will be the OFFICIAL 2019 IBRD™ tee shirt that will be worn all over the world!

GOOD LUCK!

Hi TJ
I was working on a design and missed the submission date :(
Two nice drawings are in my files now and I'll propose them next year :)
Find sad that there are so few contestants/voters.
I was wondering why the popularity of barefoot running has came so low.
On my place (SW of France) I have only seen two barefoot runners in 4 years and neither seen barefoot runner before this 4 years period were I started minimalist running with sandals and sometimes barefoot.
I am now running mainly with huarache sandals because I do not feel safe running barefoot when seeing lots of broken beer bottles along the bicycle track I use when I run barefoot.
But this is not the reason they are so few minimalist runners as I do not see also runners using sandals.
I only convinced a work colleague to use sandals and we run together the sunday morning using Xero Shoes z-trail sandals (he has knee problems when he was running and now with sandals the knee problem is gone). The problem is that people continue thinking that the technology of the running shoes will help them running faster and safer and think of us (barefoot/minimalist) as crazy people.
Best Regards Barefoot TJ

Thank you, Jose.

You're a good influence on your friend, now that his knee pain is gone. That's the reason why it's important for those who walk and run barefoot and/or minimal to keep spreading the message that barefoot is healthy. We do this by running barefoot as much as possible in public.

It is disheartening when there are so few of us left, I agree. But we keep on keeping on.

Please do submit your artwork for next year. In fact, if you could do so now, I promise to hold onto them until next year and add them to next year's contest. I would feel relieved to know that we have artwork for next year. It was concerning when it seemed we wouldn't have any for this year.

Double check this, but it looks like next year, IBRD will fall on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Come on, all. Please vote!

You all are clicking the radio button above to vote correct? I just want to make sure everyone knows that posting your vote doesn't count, you have to click the radio button. You probably did, but I just need to make sure, since I can't see who votes from which. Thanks.

The BRS has incredible network traffic stats, especially for a niche sport like ours, so it always amazes me when I see the amount of Views on a thread but not much interaction. Please, all you Looky-Loos :lurking:, please register, log in, and post. Don't be shy. :shy: We'll be nice. We're not like other forums. I promise. :)

Just for kicks: In 2017, our site had 24,965,529 hits (averaging 2,080,461 per month), with 642,031 unique visitors (averaging 53,503 per month). In 2018, our site had 24,541,127 hits (averaging 2,045,094 per month), with 631,495 unique visitors (averaging 52,625 per month). (Previous years show similar numbers.) As you can see, our numbers have stayed strong and consistent over the past years.

Whew! I'm glad I checked.
