As I said before, the other day I was up going to the bathroom (#2) when I lost my mucus plug. I started having real contractions that night. They slowly got stronger and closer together. Last night Stephanie and I were resting in bed when I felt a warm, wet sensation on the bottom of my night shirt. My contractions quickly picked up, and Stephanie called Dr. Donovan and we headed to the hospital. We got there about 11-ish and settled into our birthing suite.

I labored overnight, consistently changing positions, determined to go drug-free. About 9, I finally was hitting the home stretch. I squatted on the bed, and they slid a mirror between my legs. I looked down and smiled as I saw her head crown. I reached to stroke it, and she quickly slid out. I laid back down, opened the left side of my nightshirt, and she latched on expertly. :). We moved the cord, saw it was a girl, and cooed,"Welcome to the world Megan." After the cord stopped pulsing, they handed Stephanie the scissors, and she cut the cord. The nurse checked her out as we admired her. She was PERFECT!

The doctor had told me they wanted me to be able to comfortably go to the bathroom before going home. The reason was because I went drug-free and didn't have an episiotomy.

Well, I was just able to go, so they're happy. :D

She spent her first night home! Nursed (AND got changed!) every 2 hours! After pulling her into bed after her 2 AM feeding I just left her lying next to me in bed. As I was doing one feeding, Stephanie rolled over, felt that Megan was there, propped herself up and smiled,"Hi sweetheart! (Talking to both of us).
