Ran on the local bike trail 3.5 miles this afternoon. Noticed the trail has grown quite a few stickers and sand burs that are nearly ripe and ready to detach from the plants. Gonna have to be careful of my steps on future runs if I continue to run on the bike trails. At the end of my run I was stopped by an older couple that had been riding bicycle on the trails. They were curious about my barefoot running. Had good conversation about barefoot running and how I initially started running barefoot.

Very gentle 4km this morning at an easy pace.
Took in a mixture of velvety smooth new pathway and some pure gravel sections (just to keep me awake;)).

Not very many other runners out today, so it was quite quiet. Still an enjoyable run. -Back out again later in the week.

...It's nice when that happens :).

5.5 mile run Tuesday at 5:00 am. Big full moon was out with clear skies. There were quite a few other folks out. I do not recall seeing much wildlife.

Had an enjoyable run this evening which began just before sundown. Temps were only down to 75 with calm winds so the bugs were a bit of a problem. Did here one screech owl early on which was nice and it sure smelled like fall was in the air. The moon was spectacular also as I ended my run with a trip into a nearby gas station barefoot for a bottle of water and then back to my car I walked for a cool down period.

Ran a repeat of my Tuesday route this morning plus a little bit, so 5km covered in total.
Lots more runners & exercise groups around today -obviously a popular day of the week for getting out & about early.
Ran at quite an easy pace again today. Intending to try some speed work (and I use that term very loosely!:D) at the weekend...

Hello! I've kept up with roughly 24 miles per week on my active weeks, but the smoke from wild fires the last few days is making this week difficult. I already had an easy week last week, so am really hoping that it is clear enough for a long run tomorrow. Still interspersing with wonderful swims and some spin biking.

Been a while since I've been on the forums! This summer I have been slacking :shy: I've spent a lot of time vacationing, with a 1-week, a 3-week, and then just recently a 2-week vacation. I did try to keep running but runs slacked off to just a few miles and no long runs or hard workouts. Still I maintained a good base on vacation and tried to ease back up while home.

Kind of all over the place, and some of those weeks were a lot of walking (red) and hiking (blue).

Aug 27th I made my record 1/2 marathon 1:27 (put up a race report in that section), and took it easy the next week and still slowly ramping back up. Legs were pretty sore for a few days, and calves remained sore over a week (still a hint of soreness in my bad one). Have a 5k next weekend I hope to do well, but not really training for it, just hoping to be fully recovered and back to 'normal' by then!

Did some barefoot mountains on my big vacation, as well as some shod mountains - first shod hiking I've done in many years! And it turned out a horrible experience!

Parkrun for me this weekend, so just the 5km. But I did push the pace a bit more than usual. Pretty good session and all feels good.
I'll do a couple of easy ones again in the week and then a bit longer next weekend I think. -Seem to be getting into quite a reasonable rhythm at the moment:)...
