Concurrent Strength & Endurance Training 2017: Cycle II

Ok planned the trip in a few weeks, will end up being a 4 day 180k trip through Snowdonia in Wales.
Well, I'd say you've successfully achieved your goal of concurrent training. You can deadlift 400 pounds and run a four-day ultra. Congrats!

I should try to invent some kind of conditioning goal that takes account of my knees. Any suggestions? Maybe something on the sled? I don't think I want it to have anything to do with cycling. There's no way I'll ever be in the kind of shape I was in at the end of my travels, and anything less would be a come-down.

Yeah maybe the sled, or just do crossfit type stuff with the simpler lifts. Sleds, farmers, burpees, jump rope, hills, maybe squats. Rowing is anther good but horribly boring one. Cross country skiing in the winter. Maybe one of those Schwinn fan bikes those can kick your ass in 10 minutes. You can always start mtn biking too that can be more conditioning than endurance.

Yeah I cut my trip back a bit to 100 miles total. Figured I should start the training out easy and finish. There are some serious climbs too which even at 25 miles a day will be difficult.

Oh and its supposed to snow WTF!

You know if you catch the train drunk up Mt.Snowdon it doesn't count as a summit;)

Ha I saw that train when I was planning the route and kept thinking what the hell it was, crazy that it goes to the summit. I am planning on actually running down the trail next to the train for the night stay at Llanberis. Then another summit up Snowdon the next day.

Looks like a fun weekend of snow and rain...
