It's Thursday here, but I can't find a thread for this week. Am I doing it wrong?

Anyway, my week to date:

Monday - decided to surf instead of running. Went for a look at the beach and the waves were crappy, so I started chatting to a friendly guy I met at the top of the beach steps and wasted a bit of time and didn't end up surfing OR running. Oh well.
Tuesday - Dawn surfing with some nice waves. Lovely.
Wednesday - 6.5 km on the streets in the rain. Quite enjoyable, seeing as temperatures haven't quite dropped below 10 C yet. An old bloke from my running group who always asks where my shoes are drove past, wound down the window and asked why I wasn't wearing gumboots. That was funny.
Thursday - had to get up early for a train, so no running today.

Lesson for the week: Fancy technical clothing is no better at stopping nipple chafe than an old t-shirt. It's completely overrated.

Larry, because it's only Wednesday here. ;)

Monday - 10 miles barefoot around the ponds. Had to ask quite a few geese and ducks to let me pass. Later, swam in my pool.

Tuesday - Only managed an hour on the spin bike. It was my birthday and I was very popular. :D

Wednesday - 6.2 miles in my Luna's because I have a bit of a bruise on the ball of my left foot again. Good run, though. Lots of time doing yard work, including digging and moving several wheelbarrows full of dirt; then a swim. Got a bit of sunburn.

15.4 miles today down an old railway path. Had one of those i've forgot i'm running moments for a few miles which I always enjoy, probably because of the high embankments and no views.
There were a lot of rabbits warrens on the path accompanied by an assortment of predators circling above, from buzzards to kestrels and red kites. The hedgerows were stirring with the sounds of spring, it was really nice to listen to the changing birdsong as the miles passed by.

5 miles on Tuesday morning at 5:00 am cool weather clear skies.

6 miles Thursday morning at 4:45 am mostly seeing lots of rabbits.

5 miles Friday at lunch time spotted some ducks and lots of birds (daylight run for me)

Why, yes, I was up until midnight dancing last night! However, I got up by 8:30 and went for a 4.8 mile run to round out my week at 30.5 miles for the second week in a row. I will get in a swim this afternoon after some yard work.

Well not a good week for me. Weather is crap, and I'm working dayshifts. I had a pretty good week last week with runs both Saturday and Sunday so I took Monday off (plus it was a nightshift back to days transition wich I usually don't run that day).

Tuesday got a good run in - first run in like a year with the HRM. Decided to run to my 180-age rate just to see where I was at compared to previous years. Really surprised myself though I am sure the cold helped my HR as it was only in the 40's and I was in shorts barely keeping warm. 8.75 miles. After a couple miles warmup I settled in mid to upper 7's and held there until the last mile. A year or more ago I was lucky to get my MAF under 9 minutes.

Wednesday I was busy cleaning house until afternoon then the weather didn't cooperate. Thur-Sun I'm working dayshifts and barely have some time after work but the weather really sucks so I haven't run since. I'm 3 weeks out from the 1/2 marathon I'm prepping for, so this week isn't helping except to make sure I'm not overtraining. :p One more week of good training then I don't want to push myself the last 2 weeks.

@skedaddle that's impressive if you can have a "forget I'm running moment" running on that grit!

Ah yeah I just assume we're talking barefoot here unless specified, I forget folks do run minimalst too.

When I run long or go off road I normally wear minimal shoes, i'm much happier doing that these days as it opens up my choices.
I'll always run barefoot on the road though. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, didn't even cross my mind.

Nice early morning 4.25km today down at the lake again.
-Had wanted to try and get in a couple of short mid week runs this week, but succumbed to a cold virus instead:(..
Oh well, as it turned out it came and went in a couple of days, so was good to get out again this morning.

Talking of grit -had to dig this little chap out from my heel today. Impressive colouring for a piece of grit, but an uncomfortable little specimen nevertheless!...

I haven't been reporting in since late September but that hasn't meant that I stopped running barefoot. From October to March, I logged about 430 bf miles, primarily in my Oakland neighborhood around Lake Merritt. This week, the first week of April, I've been out seven times and logged 35 miles. This week's highlights included a loop around the Lake with Efrem yesterday, and then I went on another loop this morning. It showered lightly during our run yesterday and the rain stopped this morning by the time I got out. The rains that California has sorely needed, left a lot of puddles along the entire route. Splashing through a lot of them was fun.

Nice to see you back @bare_ftazn seems like your doing very well in the mileage department!

I'm with @Nopp only two runs this week. In my repeating 6-week schedule this is usually the worst to get runs in. Get off Monday from last nightshift and go in for 12hr dayshifts Thursday-Sunday. Anyhow Besides the 8.75 I mentioned for Tuesday I did 5 miles last night after work since it was the last one and I didn't need to be back early to go to bed. So only 13.75 miles this week. And I was doing so well building back up lately. Well at least I'm not overtraining! The 1/2 I want to do well at is 3 weeks out now... so just this week of hard training is left. The last two I'll dial back to just taking it easy. At least the weather is looking warmer now, the last few days of sub freezing temps and snow was really zapping my will to run now its spring!
