Hey there!
Here I share a few pics from before and after the race :)
Unfortunately there was no one to take pictures of me while running :(
Maybe they will release some official pictures of the race later.
The race in numbers: 10.18 km @ 5:44 min/km according to my Garmin, for a total of 58'26". According to official records, it was 5:54 min/km and 59'03".
At the 7th km I almost gave up. It felt that it was never going to end and that I couldn't make it. The reward came in the shape of music by the 8th km. I got a few tunes that cheered me up. As a matter of fact, the best track came in for the last 500 m. This one always makes me try harder:

Here you are the stats as recorded by my Garming:

Edit: I got a video of myself going through the finish line. It's not spectacular, but hey! You can spot me at the beginning of the vid to the left margin, although you have to pay attention to notice that I was barefoot :p

And now, the pics:
Off to the race, waiting for the metro.

I did not intend to run shod, so I got the lightest VFFs I have —a pair of KSO

Just arrived to the finishing area... prior to the race start. I left there my backpack, then buses took runners to the starting point.
At 8:30 the place was almost deserted.

While warming up, I used that ledge to stretch my leg muscles, leaving my footprints on the was. I found it funny and took a pic

A runner fellow I met before the race. We were chatting a bit and sharing experiences.

A pic of myself :|

A few minutes before the start people started packing and dividing themselves according to their expected finish time. I was behind the 55 min hare runner (with that blue balloon there)

Right after the finish.

Phew!
IMG_20160313_110149.jpg

The final 50 m where paved in cobblestone. It was like a bad joke :( I could not sprint as fast as I had wished.

Yeah! Dirt and grease and whatnot
IMG_20160313_111157.jpg

I ended in the 1286th position out of some 2100 runners, and in the 587th position of older than 35 male runners. And absolute winner of the barefoot category :p

Ready to go, with my slightly less sportive pants on. The shoes can wait.

This image wasn't taken on day of the race, but I included it so you have an idea what the asphalt looked like for almost 2 never ending kms.

The first and only :p
Barefoot running is not unpopular here, but it's unknown.
The first reaction of every single person when they learn that I run barefoot is "oh, but you are going to get hurt with glass sharpnels!" They clearly don't look at the ground too much. Pieces of glass are very few, easy to spot and easy to avoid. You only need to pay attention.
What really scares me are stones, because they don't glimmer with light and are the same color of the asphalt or the concrete.

Hey thanks, @barefootdama !
Sure, I'm already in for a 5k on the 3rd of April, plus I plan for an 8k on the 15th of May.

Great! am sure you're going to have tons of fun.
Maybe I should enter a race myself, I don't want you to have all the fun :)

Wow. Great job! I remember reading somewhere that the Inuit have hundreds of words for snow, each with a different description for the character. We as barefooters should have more words to describe the occasional decrepit asphalt. Looked crackie to me.

@Barefoot Dama having goals is always inspiring. I find mine in races.
@paraganek sure I will!
@Alan S thank you! As for the asphalt, yeah, we could start a glossary. The asphalt wasn't only crackie, it was pretty rough at touch. How about crackrough? Like "Yeah, part of the race was on crackrough; it sucked".
Here a real Google Streetview image of one of the streets we run on: https://goo.gl/dKRZya

Congrats on your first barefoot 10k!

I agree, the average person is far to obsessed with glass. I think I ran a whole year or so before I even saw one piece of glass on the road or trail around here (this is of course going to very by location). The camouflage rock sitting atop hard pavement is much more of a pain, and much more common an issue for me.
