Mileage reporting 23rd week 2014

Wow, how am I starting this weeks thread? Ok well, did 45 minutes on the tread in my monos doing incline and decline work. Worked on steady easy running while trying to keep up the highest pace I could while also keeping my heart rate down below 160. Mostly was around 150'ish bpm. Felt pretty good, but my ankles are both still a little tender from Saturdays Rugged Maniac race so I cut the run just a little short.

sunday:
am 2.5 bare on the rough roads around here, so lots of gravel on top of pavement. I lived, but it wasn't fun. Then, about 1.5 walk in sneakers while my son biked.
evening: about 45 min swim, followed by a little silliness with my first time trying to play racquetball.

monday:
lunch: weights
evenign: ~35-40 min swim
sunset: 2.5 mi bf stroll on the rough roads. Went better.I think some debris actually got cleared off since the rain, or it's just easier to deal with walking over this rough stuff.

11 mile run around the pond loop very early to accommodate my husband's work schedule. At the loop, he can easily run his own pace and say hello in passing, so it is quite convenient that way. I am very pleased with my pace and perceived level of effort, but the legs aren't used to going quite that fast and are a bit tight now. Hot bath and more rolling, I think.

60 minutes of straight incline on tread shod in my old inov-8 road x lite 155's at a slow easy pace with (according to tread that is) 1050 feet of ascent. I did zero decline today and mostly stayed between 4-8% incline with a little below (down to 0.5%) and a little above that (up to 10%). I also tried to keep at a pace that kept my heart rate down and my avg heart rate was 158bpm (a little higher than I normally do on the tread). My form must have really gotten better because the last time I wore these shoes a couple years ago they hurt my knees. I did have issues with my middle and pointer toes on one foot which may have been me having the lacing too tight. Anyhow, these are not my favorite shoes but they are light and I am trying to find something that I may like since I seem to be moving more to having my soles covered somewhat. I actually just want something I can run long distances with as sandals seem to bother me in between the toes on long runs. Anyhow, guess I'll maybe stick to this thread from now on so I can be less offensive to some (ske) with my likes. Who can be mad at someone for liking someones running/workouts?

Lightning bugs on my 5 mile run this morning very nice feeling good
I am little stoked about the wounded warrior 1/2 marathon this Sunday.

5.21 miles of some paved, but mostly unpaved trails in vff speeds while pushing my baby girl in stroller. I avg'd a 9:55 pace total. Last 3 miles were my fastest (all unpaved trail) at 9:24, 9:40, and 9:41. Feeling really good and like my training is doing me a lot of good. It's nice to run without hurting, and better yet to not hurt after running.

Oh and I forgot to mention that for the first time since I started running after my back surgeries am I feeling like I just might be able to get somewhat close to my old pace from my younger days. At one fairly good straight stretch today I was at a 5:23 pace, unfortunately corners and terrain slow me down a lot more with the stroller.

Tuesday - 60 minutes on spin bike in morning, then evening swim, but I peetered out after 25 minutes.
Wednesday - 6 mile run very easy in the AM. Haven't been feeling great and am low on sleep due to husband's travel schedule.

Sorry to hear you've been having sleep problems too. My daughter is teething again and she does NOT handle it like our son. She has been keeping me awake a lot at night too. This morning she had me up at 3:50am with her. Can't wait till this bout is done with so I can go back to sleeping a full night again. Hope you start getting some better rest!

2.5 miles around the waterfront, pavement, barefoot. 1/4 mile of that was sprinting...because I may, or may not, have been racing a bridge lift, that I may, or may not, have failed miserably at doing, (needing to jump a gate before I ended up hanging from the end of the lift). And, there may or may not have been some bicycle cops on the other side, who may or may not have seen me do this, that I may, or may not have, hid from for quite awhile. And of course since I was dressed like a crazy person for Runners Day, while hiding, I may, or may not have, taken off my orange sequined headband, my pink polka-dotted scarf, and my turned my flowered/leopard print pants inside out and removed my glasses and wiped off my bronze lipstick - when I arose from the bushes to return to my car. :D

60 minutes of incline on the treadmill with about 1056 ft of elevation gain. After the first 15 minutes I had to stop and walk and get some food in me. The problem with trying to lose weight while also training is that it sometimes leaves my blood sugar all out of whack if I don't eat enough and then things start spinning and I feel like I'm going to pass out. Yesterday it seemed I just could not reach my calorie requirements for nothing, and I could definitely tell today. After 20 minutes of walking while eating an apple and naan bread I started to feel better and was able to run the rest of the way pretty hard.

60 minutes on the spin bike at lunch time, then a short swim in my sparkly, pink leopard print swimsuit, but no one to hide from. :p Just my 2 youngest daughters hanging around. Swim time 20 minutes from 2 ten minute segments.
