Mileage reporting 11th week 2014

I ran about 2.5 miles yesterday just to shake out the legs. Figured out how to adjust my body clock quickly with the change in clocks, I woke up yesterday about 4 AM on the clock or what would have been 3 AM the day before, never really got back to sleep before getting out of bed at 5:15 and then ran, then bowled, then split some wood for a couple of hours. So that tuckered me out all good and I easily flopped into bed a little after 9 PM.

Got a couple good days of weather today and tomorrow.

Well I think I can finally say I'm back in the game. Only about a normal weeks mileage worth of runs for all of January and February (well not sure if I even ran in February lol) but with the warmer temps I've made a few runs in the last few days. First barefoot run was last week. Earlier today the sun was out bright and got my first no shirt or shoes run in, 5mi. The sun felt so good on the skin! :happy:Its like an instant mood booster after a long, cold winter.

Welcome back!

SU 3/9/2014
Run: 10 sloooow miles, midday, 45F/37F windchill, loops in the fairgrounds. Shed jacket, cap, and mittens after a bit.
ST: Zilch

M 3/10/2014
Run: 2 miles run-commuting. The icy surfaces, slush, and puddles in the morning nearly did me in. But in the afternoon it was close to 50F! First non-qualifying barefoot run for the Winter Challenge since early October I think. I had this song in my head the whole time:

ST: Deadlifts. Managed 300 lbs. x 2 reps. Woohoo. No knee soreness, but will keep it at this weight until I can do 3-5 reps comfortably. I like this weight cuz I have to use rinky dink plates to make it an even 300, which makes it easy to pyramid down in small increments.

TU 3/11/2014
Run: six miles early morning, 35F/31F windchill. Moisture was somewhat challenging, but I was able to run in the middle of the streets most of the time, which are pretty clear of slush and snow now. I'm feeling a little TOFP -- gotta get serious about massaging and stretching again now that my mileage is back up.
I prefer shod vs unshod, similar to encumbered vs unencumbered, chained vs unchained, enslaved vs unenslaved, restricted vs unrestricted.
For me, that still makes barefoot the marked category, as though you start shod, and then undo or reverse it. I feel more gruntled when barefoot is the implied unmarked, or default category.

5.3 miles in wonderful 60 degree temps. Of course on Thursday it's a predicted high of 27 degrees and windy, grumble grumble grumble. But loved this evening, Ran about 20 minutes to warm up then did 7 hill repeats, I just kept doing them until I finally ran one that was slower than the prior one. I'll probably do much the same next week.

Great 5 mile run at 4:45 am 61 deg. f.. saw some rabbits. Shorts and tee ah yes.

Bare lee thanks for the video!!

Sid Love the running partner picture!!

I am now putting my whiny post over in the correct week - thanks Nick! :)

30 minutes hiking. Two nights ago I managed to figure out the side effects of one of my meds is what has been causing an immense amount of muscle problems. I cut it down to half two nights ago. It only takes 24 hours to leave the system. In just two days I only have half the stiffness, trigger points, and aches and pain that I did.My pdoc gave me the go ahead to stop it completely, just today. Out of habit, I accidentally took a FULL dose tonight. ARGH! I should have burned them the moment I left that appointment!!! 5 hours until the symptoms start over. I had to stop running and swimming because of this, and it was interrupting my sleep. Needlessto say, I am pissed!

2.64 miles in my monos at avg 10:05 pace. Felt really good actually and wanted to keep going, but with the race this weekend I was able to keep myself in check. So if most of you all haven't noticed I have been on here during the day again. I quit my job last week and am going back to school again. It was costing us more in daycare costs than what I made, which made it silly for someone else to watch the kids.

I'm glad your going back. Are you going to get an MBA?

Well, I couldn't find jobs in field I originally went to school for. Too much competition. Too many people with experience willing to take entry level positions... Decided screw it, gonna go back to school only this time I'm gonna do what I want, which is only available during the day which is why I didnt do it first time (because of daycare costs). Only reason I went business in first place was because there were night classes. Just gotta wait for VA to approve, which could take months...
