There are some new VFFs on the market, as there always are, so what kind intrigue you? What model would you like to try?

I just got the El-X which I think just came out a couple months ago. In my humble opinion they are the closest shoe to being barefoot. They are more minimal and the sole is more flexible than the much loved KSO's. I like that my toes and feet actually still feel like they are barefoot when walking or my 50ft run I did in them. They should hopefully be exactly what I was looking for, just enough protection for the rough stretches of sidewalk but not so much that I lose the feel of running barefoot. They have a good price tag too at $75 as their normal price.

so are the "classics" no longer available?

The classics are discontinued.
I have a pair of KSOs....actually sitting right next to me right now because I cant stand how hot my feet get in them.
I like them as a casual shoe, but man...I need one that is more comfortable in terms of head dissipation. any ideas?

The El-X seem, I just got them yesterday so very limited use mind you, to not be very hot. My feet get hot pretty easy and yesterday afternoon I wore these all around the house with no problems. Might be one that you look into anyhow Zetti. It's kind of like a meshy stretchy upper so feels like it breathes pretty well. May be a bit cold for your neck of the woods, but maybe that's just me being a weakling.

Gentile, for me my normal size of 43 is just a touch small so I went up to a 44 which is ever so slightly too big for me, although I like them like this so that I can also wear socks if needed. I will be using these for everyday and gym wear myself.

I like the Seeya's without the laces.
I already have them though and they are my shoe to go when I must, they're the lightest at only 3 oz.

According to the website the see-yas come in at 4.8oz while the El-X comes in at 4.23ozs. Oh wait, that's the mens, I didn't look at the womens, maybe those are that light.

Wow, the womens see-yas are 3.75 ozs! Now that's light!

nananana! take that Nick! are you jealous yet?
what size did you look at? I thought mine were 3 oz flat

Looks like the womens size 38 is what vibram is listing at 3.75 ozs while the mens are size 43. For the men, the El-X I believe is the lightest available right now.

wow....3oz flat is impressive...that would be nice...of course its not really the weight that bothers me about "normal" shoes, now its the arch support and heel lift/padding.

This are the VFF we are talking about Zetti, there is no arch support, heel lift nor cushioning, nothing.
AND they are super, super flexible.

3.75 oz is still really impressive. Heck, 4.23 ozs for the mens shoe is super impressive. I really think the el-x will be my go to running/gym/everyday shoe just because of how close it mimics being barefoot and does not impede my foot movement like so many of the other models.

still very good weight even at 3.75 oz don't you think?
