The Transition

I am working on all the "kinks" of barefoot running and I have to say that I officially dislike shoes. Before I enjoyed some sometimes... That no longer exists. When I walk in shows my knee begins to have pain almost immediately and ends once I remove the shoes (no matter what kind.) Anyone else have a similar issue?
I see many people tend to just use the minimalist shoes, but I don't want to go that route and the ropes/straps rub raw for me. Any one have any wrap techniques? I am mainly looking for a foot cover in public, such as work, grocery store ect where I don't want to deal with some managers nonsense. I do have a wrap concept however any input or additions would be great!

Thank you!

You'll get a lot more comments if you post in the forum rather than the blog, just a tip. I'm in a similar predicament with running, but don't mind minimalist while just walking and sometimes when I'm working I have to wear the big bulky heavy steel toed boots. For running no matter what footwear I have tried I often get pains in my arches. Removing the footwear this goes away. Sometimes the pain is so severe it drops me to the ground and I have to massage out the foot and arches thoroughly to continue. Always a pain come winter when it gets to cold for barefoot for me!

The through the toes straps have always rubbed on me too. It's rare to find a pair of sandals that don't aggravate me. -TJ
