Interesting thing...

Yesterday, I was out and about on the ole feet doing a decent run around base while everyone was sleeping their intoxication off. It's nice to be able to really enjoy the array of smells, the sun, the cool breeze, and the freedom that I really lack in this lifestyle. I didn't run very long,, maybe about thirty minutes,, because I don't have my pads built up to where they need to be to run more than six miles yet. But I usually run in a random loop, and at the point where I decided that I should head back to my room I saw a guy running in the opposite direction sporting some black KSOs. Naturally, I was happy to see that and I waved at him. He waved back as if almost to say, "hello brother. Enjoy your run." It didn't even hit me until I passed him that he was proudly wearing a Nebraska Huskers shirt. For a second, the thought of me pulling a 180 and catching up to him to talk a little passed through my mind. In retrospect, I really don't know why I didn't do that anyway. It wouldn't hurt much to talk to him a little, and maybe he'd be interested in what I'm trying to do on base. Uniting the BF runners to learn from one another. Anyway, I need to get going. Peace.
