I'm buying a bike, no running for me (darn genetics)

I've recently discovered the issue that I previously had with my right calf...is now also present in my left too! According to the physio, there appears to be high percentage of fast twitch fibres in my calves that fatigue relatively quickly...then don't relax!! I hadn't run for 4 days the first time I met him, and, according to my calves, you would think I have just finished a full set of calf raises! He tells me it is possibly a genetic factor, and could ultimately limit my distance running. The last time it happened was within 6 minutes on the treadmill. I'm going through his advice on stretches and strengthening exercises, having a test run today for a couple kilometres to see what happens.
No need to worry, still barefoot everywhere else...

10 minutes on treadmill today actually went alright, holding off on that bike for another day or two
