I'll tell ya where I've been....

Ok, so I'm gonna blog and I'm gonna do so here on BRS's site (Because TJ said to do it! Now if she told me to jump off a bridge, or if anyone of you told me to....... Well I would atleast consider it and weigh it out before making a decision, you never know the jump might be worth it).

I'm less than a year in my competition (if you want to call it that) running of races and events.

1st event was run shod in a pair of my lawn mowing sneakers - Rugged Run For Respect 8/18/2012 at Bristol Ski Resort in Upstate NY - Did this event as a team run, we were "Team Honey Badger" - I finished next to dead last..... I wanted to be the last of my team to cross the line since I sort of headed the whole thing up.

2nd event, The Wineglass Half Marathon 9/30/2012 run shod..... My time here was 02:01:03.51 which I thought was pretty good for my first ever 1/2 marathon.

3rd event, Stockadeathon 15K in Schenectady, NY on 11/11/2012- Shod, had to stop halfway and stretch an IT-Band flare up. My time here 1:22:43.

4th event, A Home for the Holiday 5K run in Mansfield, PA on 12/8/2012. A shod run again, time of 24:09.08.

5th event - after this one I toss the sneakers. New Years Day 2013 5K Big Flats, NY - 26:16 was my time.

Now I toss the sneakers and start my transition to complete barefeet. Now the looks, the comments and the stares begin......

6th event - I probably shouldn't have done a 1/2 marathon so soon but I had already registered for it and there was no way I was going to throw on sneakers for any part of it, socks maybe, sneakers no! 1/2 Marathon 2/24/13 Disney World - Princess 1/2 Marathon - Managed the whole run barefoot with a stubbed toe along the way - Time 2:10:54

7th event - Saint Patrick's Day 5K in Corning, NY - Run in my barefeet, was the only one there barefoot. My time was 23:10 - I guess you could say a new 5K PR.

So that is where I've been in my event career, relatively short huh?

I've always enjoyed running and now love it even more, since entering into events I don't really care if I finish first, last, mid-pack, etc - A new PR is cool with me, I like the T-shirts some of the events give out, so I guess I run for the shirts..... Not really some of the events I've run don't give anything away other than your finishing time.

It will expand and grow, I'm registered for a few events throughout this year and have others charted. I'm going to keep with the deal though, I'll tell ya where I've been....... As far as where I'm going, that'll be a mystery.

So if you are a BRS member and see another Barefooter at a race be sure to approach and see if it's me :)
