Hmmmmm...

Was going through the site today to look at all those posts buried by newer posts. I came along one post in the health and injury section that resulted in a lightbulb moment. It must have been on page 7 I think, but the post was a blood blister from running on chipseal. I read the whole thing with everyone painfully recalling their run-ins with the stuff and how extreme it can feel. I sympathized with one poster who had a hard time on it starting out. I hate to say it, but the pictures of the stuff some of them were reminding me of the roads around here in quality if not in composition. No wonder I cringe at the thought of trying to run on the stuff. It seems anyone with sense would cringe. Least I no longer feel nuts for considering myself certifiably insane for thinking about a run on the road outside. Luckily the sidewalk is in good shape. I recall one poster said the chipseal was good for walking on to condition the soles, so I may just do that, although I may look like a complete idiot as I gingerly walk like I'm trying to cross hot coals, LOL. Reading some of the recent posts I was thinking at least I don't have to worry about snow, but after reading about chipseal and then thinking about the upcoming summer, I may come to envy the snow country folk. That or just become a minimalist runner, but thinking about that is disheartening right now so I am gonna try and get my mind into a happier place.
