Hi from Japan!

Hi, I'm Yoshi from Japan. I am a chair of Japanese Barefoot Running Association/Tokyo Barefoot Running club and

Iam very excited to be a part of BRS! Istarted the association/club this year and

the barefoot runningpopulation in Japanis slowly increasing.

Our club has currently about 30 members and werun/train together about 4 times a week.

We also do some big events collaborated with Apple etc.

One of the things we haven't done is the barefoot race.Iwould like to

organize a barefoot race. Maybe someone can help?

Open to any suggestions so please feel free to contact me!

p.s. my stroy (a long time ago) convered the front page of wall street journal once

and i got a lot of negative comments from barefoot running community but if you

allow me to excuse.... the story was twisted.... all i wanted to talk about was

about my barefoot running study but instead they just talked about my blisters.

i didn't know much back then. no more blisters!!! yeah!

I'm very excited that you joined the BRS.

I currently live in the US but I will be in Japan in April/May. If you organize a barefoot run on May 1st for the first International Barefoot Running Day I would love to participate.

I will contact you before my trip to see if I can join one of your trainings. I would love to meet other barefoot runners while in Japan.

Welcome, Yoshi! Please feel free to share your experiences with your new BRS Japan Chapter and your new BRS Japan Forum. And when you have your first BRS meetup, please be sure to share an event report and pictures with me, so I can share them with the BRS members. I am looking forward to those. :) -TJ

Don't worry about the negative press. We all get that now and again. We prefer to focus on the positive statements that come out of the news stories...and hope they don't get too much of it wrong. ;-) -TJ

Yoshi, welcome to the BRS! I look forward to hearing about your running club. It is wonderful that you already have that many barefoot runners together! Keep up the good work! :)

30 people in a BF club able to train together, that must be great. I'm training on my own letting the strange looks & comments from nearby houses wash over me. They probably always thought I was strange but I know that it's the otherway around :)

I know that there are others out there near me, I've just not seen them yet :shy:

:santa:
