Feeling good

Back again after a bit of an internet hiatus. I was spending way too much time on the internet, so I applied the old adage "everything in moderation, including moderation" and cut way back on my computer time. I am still doing really well on my Whole30 program. Started the last week of December, so coming up on that finish line pretty quick (I hate New Year's resolutions, so I always start new projects last week of December to avoid having to call them a resolution). Still avoiding grains and dairy like the proverbial plague until February when I can start adding some things in one at a time to see how I do with those foods.

Going to start with yogurt, so I can have one of my snacks back again. Nothing like organic wild blueberries (quick frozen) to add to plain old unsweetened yogurt for a nice desert. Crossing my fingers I don't react to it. I was a mess judging by how good I felt a week after starting the elimination diet. Don't want to go back to feeling that way again.

Been a couple of weeks with my wife and I getting out with friends to enjoy the unseasonably nice weather by going for a hike in the local area. The small mountain kicked my tail the first time I went, but I made a good account of myself this last weekend. It has some pretty steep parts to it. I think we conquered it in half the time. I also felt really energized when I got home, as compared to the exhaustion I felt first time. Progress is nice.

Did some sprinting today. Going for that whole primal "run for your life" thing. I did a lot better than I thought I would. I got back feeling really pumped. Before I forget, I have lost 12 pounds since the end of December, and can fit very nicely into clothes I haven't worn in a year or more. I thInk the number would be higher but I have been gaining muscle thanks to all the leg work.

Just want to say this site has been a real blessing for me. It has allowed me to keep focused on my ultimate goals, even when I tend to slack off.
