28 degrees, light snow, KSO Treks...

A bit warmer today, 28 degrees w/light snow. Ran the road instead of the trails today, conditions were a bit wet, yet snowpick-up on the soles of my Treks was minimal. I found that the snow is thrown easily with each step due to the flexibility of the sole and natural flex of the foot. Did not feel any thing "extra" under foot as you would with a typical shoe that packs snow on like an extra sole attached to the shoe. Nikwax used to water proof the Treks is still holding up, feet remained dry even with the "warm" temp. Treks still breathing well even with the Nikwax which is designed for Goretex...Saw some moisture escaping from Treks, but nothing penetrating. There were some icy spots on the asphalt especially on the hills. I had no problem with slippage, the composition/flexation of the sole allows it to stay soft and grippy even in the cold. Had about 1 inch of fresh powder which dusted right off the Treks, never stayed long enough or had anyplace to accumulate and melt with foot heat(even between my toes). Great run.
