Not Sounding like an Idiot when being interviewed about barefoot running.
So, after about a year of barefoot running, reading a lot, and being on this site I feel like I have a very good base knowledge about barefoot running. I've even read a lot of the heavy, scientific articles about it, but that doesn't seem to help when you have about 10 minutes and a couple of questions about barefoot running. So what's the most important things to say with that short time? I...

My First BF Injury: Need advice. If you don't want to read the story, you can skip to the bottom to
Thursday of last week I suffered my first injury while running barefoot. I was running around my college campus, was excited about the beautiful weather, and also felt good knowing that I only had three miles to run, and then an easy 7 on saturday (this was a recovery week for my marathon training). Unfortunately, other people thought the weather was nice and it seemed like everyone was...

The Paul McCartney Runner
First let me say that I love Paul McCartney! That may be a bit too much, but the fact is, I really like the Beatles, my wife really likes the Beatles, we got engaged at the Imagine mosaic in Central Park. I say all of this first because I am about to use the name Paul McCartney in a slightly negative way, but he is the best example I can think of and to be true to my thoughts while running he...

are my toes curling under my feet?
This winter I ran a half marathon barefoot. It was much colder than I had expected and after running through many water stops where water covered the ground I wanted to stop, but decided to push on. Around mile 8 or 9 I started to get this sensation that my toes were curling up under my feet. I haven't been able to figure out what this was, but attributed it to the sub freezing temperatures of...

Can you tell if someone is a barefoot runner or not by how they run in Vibrams?
I know this sounds like a weird question, and the more I reread it the more I want to change it, but I'm feeling particularly lazy today and don't want to scroll up. I was running on an indoor track today wearing Vibrams. I had played around with the idea of going barefoot on the track, but had already gotten stopped before about being barefoot and decided against it. I went for a nice and...

The Barefoot Beard?
Do we need to have a good beard to be a good barefoot runner? Yes. Am I in any position to be making universal statements like this? No. I started barefoot running in May of last year, in June I was able to participate in a BF KenBob workshop. I was hooked. Not only was his demeanor and information great, but man did that beard look awesome. I wanted one. I'm working on it, but have had to...
