Finally, after 7 days since breaking my second metatarsal, my ROM in that foot is, maybe, 80% back To normal - I'm happy with that. The swelling is, maybe, 20% what it was. While my foot was swollen and angry the ROM was closer to 10-20% of normal. Painful, too. I couldn't spread my toes much. I couldn't wiggle them much, and my gait was all jacked up, or nonexistent. Tendons and ligaments started to shorten, and joints started to feel stiff. Sound like life in a shoe?

Thank god no cast and plenty of time to carefully work on things. Crutched around barefoot, elevated and iced barefoot, gently stretched and wiggled toes barefoot. Definitely healed best while asleep. Now I can isolate and flex my big toe up and down, and my ankle feels as loose as the other. I can ease into near full weight bearing, and the twinges from tweaks aren't as bad. If injured. . . heal well. . . my friends.
