Tuesday night I was running in the train and developed pain in the side of my foot. Last night I was running again and the pain increased substantially. I'm not new to running but have increased my short runs distance a little (around 3 miles to 5) and my long runs from 6 or 8 to 10.

I'm concerned because I have a half marathon in a couple of weeks. Any ideas and/or suggestions?

This could be a core issue. While stress fracture is a possibility, are your hips distorted, are your legs very tight or one side tighter than the other. If so, you may be shortening your stride and slamming your foot into the ground which will cause pain. If you have increase your mileage or pace, it is likely you are having core issues. A good sports chiropractor who does myofascial release can be quite helpful here.

I would suggest visting a professional and getting their opinion before you run the race.
