I did it. After purchasing a new (to me) bike, I decided to buy some Shimano cycling shoes....
WOW! So much better than cycling barefoot! When I transition from bike to running now my legs don't feel nearly as tired as they did when I was cycling barefoot.
I think its because when you're cycling barefoot, you're relying on your thighs to push down on the pedals and do all the work to go forward. When you're wearing cycling shoes (the kind that clip in) you instead use ALL your leg muscles, like your hamstrings, to move yourself forward.
And they're held on by one big strap, so they're very easy to take on and off.
