Formatting in email notifications

The formatting of email notifications from the Barefoot Runners Society is pretty bad. All the text is crammed together without even any punctuation or line breaks between message excerpts. Here's an example:

Greetings, Michael Blanchard. These are your messages Updates for Chapter Posting: Barefoot Group Runs - New Comment on Barefoot Group Runs by C-Dog titled I would be willing to Read more http://www.barefootrunners.org/build2/chapter/california-san-francisco-area-chapter/barefoot-terry/barefoot-group-runs#comment-10435 Read more http://www.barefootrunners.org/build2/chapter/california-san-francisco-area-chapter/barefoot-terry/barefoot-group-runs -- This is an automatic message from Barefoot Runners Society To manage your subscriptions, browse to http://www.barefootrunners.org/build2/user/192/notifications

This makes reading the emails near impossible, so I tend to ignore most of them. Anyone know how to fix this?

I don't have a fix, I just wanted to chime in and concur that this is a BIG problem for me. I send out lots of broadcast emails about upcoming events as a chapter prez, and I doubt my members even read them because they are so crappy looking.

On the other hand, when some of my members email me, everything seems fine. Huh?

We are aware of this problem, and I think it sucks too. I'm not impressed with Drupal. One thing that helps is to limit the amount of incoming email to each recipient on a per message basis. This helps when the original setting was to hold messages and release them all at once, as you can imagine, but it's not great if even the single message is so garbled that it is uninviting to even look at, let alone read. This is a setting I tried working with before and will try again. I've told Cameron about this too, so he's informed.
