In my town there are vast differences between different neighborhoods. Some of the asphalt is pretty smooth, and in some spots the roads are almost unbearable for me, the novice barefooter.



As for Rick vs Ken Bob, I see both points and agree with parts of each as well. I am inclined to say, though, that KB is wrong when he says that feet don't get "toughened" by barefooting.
