Wow, check this out:

As he lay dying, Holliday allegedly asked for a drink of whiskey. Amused, he looked at his bootless feet as he died—no one ever thought that he would die in bed, with his boots off. His last words were, "Now, that's funny." John Henry "Doc" Holliday died November 8, 1887. He was 36.[3]

Doc Holliday was a barefooter in his final moments!

I saw Dr. Chudy yesterday and

I saw Dr. Chudy yesterday and he said he was thrilled to be added to the map of barefoot-friendly doctors (thanks for putting him on there, TJ) and would be happy to try to help anyone. Told me about another patient he's trying to share this information with - she's short like me and convinced she "has" to wear high heels all the time. He said her back has really suffered as a result but so far she remains unconvinced that it's okay for her to go without heels.

He's been talking to lots of other patients about the improvements I've experienced by getting out of supportive shoes and seems really excited to have this new "tool" to share with people.

He's really on board with all this, and as I was leaving, said "You know, I have learned so much from you this year. Thank you."

I have NEVER had a doctor that told me he or she had learned ANYTHING from me. This warmed my heart. What a welcome change from past experiences with the healthcare profession.
