    2015 IBRD Reports

Very excited to finally get a moment to report on the IBRD experience in St Louis Missouri, USA. We have been at it here in St Louis for several years now with Mike Kean (former chapter President) taking the lead and starting the chapter and me taking over last year. Mike has left town for the...

Barefoot running is not fast food.

hey, i certainly didnt mean to be offensive with the video, and if you want to move it thats fine. the point i was trying to make was that thats how the first post of this thread struck me, i.e. "quit your whining and harden the eff up". last week i posted the thing about my soles hurting...

    My soles hurt...

ok, now i went and complicated everything. my soles remain pretty sore, and yesterday i was in Paragon buying some shorts....and i wandered over to the evil shoe department and was intrigued by the NB Minumus. i took the plunge, and ran a very pleasant 4 miles this morning with essentially no...

    My soles hurt...

So I've been barefooting for about 9 months now (vibrams when it gets below about 45), and i've gotten thru calf strains, TOFP, and now my soles (specifically under the heads of the metatarsals of my 1st and 5th toes on my left foot) are killing me. i think i run pretty lightly and have a...

    Shared Hand/Foot Wiring ?

Purely out of curiosity....has anyone noticed this: Sometimes when I'm running and I make an adjustment with my feet without really thinking about it (like lifting my toes a little or spreading them out) I notice my hands are doing the same thing. Anybody ?

When do you stop stubbing your toes? (warning: graphic bloody toe picture)

i was gonna say...when it has happened it does look pretty hardcore. i've had some pretty interesting conversations about barefoot running...and my sanity, sitting in front of my house with a smile on, sweating after a good run with blood spattered everywhere and my toe looking like wounded meat

When do you stop stubbing your toes? (warning: graphic bloody toe picture)

I made the transition to barefooting about 8months ago. Seemed like i was stubbing my toe every few weeks. The when it got colder and i went almost exclusively with the vibrams, it stopped happening (even on some warm days when I'd go totally barefoot for a few miles.) Now that it's warming up...

    Running at Night

yeah i get creeped out by the thought of glass and needles. the chance of actually contracting something thogh just from stepping on a contaminated needle is relatively low. for hep c its around less than 2%, for hep b its 25 to 40 % and for HIV its around 0.3% at least there is a vaccine for...

    Running at Night

hep c would only really be a concern if you were to barefoot run into somone with hep c ...and have sex with them or share a needle with them, in which case it probably wouldn't matter if you were barefoot or wearing ski boots just saying
