    STEM has changed their name!

This is the stupidest name change I have heard in a long time. Even if they change the spelling from "lemming" to "leming" - it still sounds the same, so when you're talking about "Leming" everyone hears "lemming" which is bad. With so many people saying that barefoot and minimalist running is a...

    How skinny is too skinny?

You look fine for a 17 year old, healthy young man. From my casual observation, most men don't really fill out muscularly (unless they are overweight/obese) until they are in their early 20's. If you feel weak, dizzy, bottomlessly hungry or in any other way "off" see your doctor, but if you're...

Continuing BOF pain- but I got my x-rays! Check 'em out!

Here are the x-rays of my left foot, for your viewing pleasure. I have been wearing my orthotics off and on for a month- they help with the bof pain while I'm wearing them, but anything I do barefoot is still painful (such as my tribal fusion dancing). On the side view, I was standing with...

Skechers getting into the game with midfoot running shoes

Wow, those still look an Wow, those still look an awful lot like their Shape Ups, with the thickest part of the sole under the arch, forming a rocker-like bottom. Ugly and useless. Cute bulldog though (and I agree, enough with the greyhound racing.)

Running barefeet in tropical countries (Viet Nam)

It seems like the biggest It seems like the biggest risk would be hookworms. It you actively avoid running in wet areas which may (or may not) contain human waste or human waste run off, you should be fine. Also, most transmisible baddies require moisture to live, so dry dirt shouldn't be a...

    New Barefooter and Splinters

I found my feet definitely I found my feet definitely got tougher and I never really had any glass or splinter issues. Then again, I always avoided sidewalks too- the road seems much, much cleaner. I ran a 5k race in the city and had to get up on the sidewalks a few times, and each time I got a...

    Orthotics for healing? Long term?

I'm wearing mine in my Stems. I'm wearing mine in my Stems. Of course, after posting here, I went and re-read everything I have read about the problems with orthotics, and I am now pissed. I agreed to try them because frankly, I am desperate to run and walk pain free and I want to get better. Grr!
