    Zwift Running...

I know it's been a few years since the original post here, but I have more experience with Zwift Running now. I bought a Zwift RunPod to upgrade my Garmin Foot Pod. The RunPod is a lot more accurate, in my opinion. I found a great way to wear it while running barefoot. I took an old sock and cut...

    Cycling thread

I'm still catching up on this thread, but it looks like I might be the new barefoot cyclist on the block. I recently picked up a pair of Diamondback Comfort Pedals from Amazon and took my first barefoot ride on a local rail trail yesterday. I found it was very liberating both in temperature and...

    Gaiters for Altra Shoes?

I've never used any other gaiters besides Dirty Girl. They are small, light, effective and fun. I don't use them often though. I've used Dg's with many shoes including Altras. Just need extra Velcro for other pairs. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Socks that can replace your shoes

I got a pair of these (Skinners) and I can say I definitely see the value and convenience of them. I use them before and after exercise, and for quick errands. I love the idea of Barebottoms, but Skinners keep me warmer in the cold Pennsylvania weather.

    Zwift Running...

I love using Zwift for cycling. I have not tried running yet because I have my setup in my garage, a completely different room than my treadmill. It's definitely a cool concept and takes the boredom away.

    2016 IBRD in Eastern Pennsylvania

I did not plan anything formal in Pennsylvania this year, but did manage to to get out for a barefoot mile in the light rain this afternoon as my way of acknowledging IBRD 2016. Afterwards, I put on my Xero Z-Trail's and continued on for 2.2 additional miles. Temperature was around 51F. I went...

    Barefoot in Longwood Gardens

Unfortunately, the Longwood Gardens web site has been updated and now states "Shirt and shoes are required at all times" on their Guest Etiquette and Guidelines page (Source: http://longwoodgardens.org/visit/guest-etiquette-guidelines).

    Too much sweat?

I have the same problem. I am a pretty big guy (6 foot tall, 190 pounds) and wicking fabrics only do so much for me when it's humid out. Sometimes I sweat so badly that I have to stop and wring out my shirt. If I didn't have the shirt, that sweat would have just gone down to my legs, so I'd...

And the SEPTEMBER TOES ON ROADS winner is …….

I didn't record my runs before the end of the month, but if they count, I took the US over the top, adding 3 more points for PA.

    Entering my first races

I can't believe how many people exclaimed "they're barefoot" when Lara and I ran a 5k this weekend. First, it was "she's barefoot", then "he's barefoot too" a moment later. I didn't really hear much more than that--no rude comments or remarks. It was actually pretty encouraging and motivating to...

What races do you have coming up or are you planning on doing?

I've only got the Hershey Half Marathon (13.1 mi.) on my schedule for October (15 weeks away). I'm pretty sure the course is barefoot friendly, based on a video I saw of the course, so I am hoping to run a lot (if not all) of it barefoot, carrying huaraches just in case. I've been comfortable...

    Barebottom shoes

Wow. I didn't mean to stir up so much discussion, but I really do appreciate the feedback. I did finally try the suede pair and although they do look more like a shoe than the neoprene ones, they are still not easy to wear (take too long to put on) and are still probably going to draw attention...

    Barebottom shoes

I appreciate all of the feedback and comments. I will continue to try the Neoprene ones since they were so cheap, and I still think they have a little fun factor to them for occasional use (probably more so when the weather turns colder), but I have realized I am never going to wear or use the...

    Barebottom shoes

I am surprised this had not come up yet, but has anyone else tried Sue Kenney's Barebottoms shoes yet (http://suekenney.ca/barefoot/)? I just ordered and received my pair and I personally love the idea. I have never been able to get over the aspect of going barefoot in public, but I immediately...

    Mileage report 20th week 2014

I got a nice 6.75 mile run in tonight at Valley Forge... started out on trails for the first 2.25 miles, then took to the paved loop to finish up. My longest all barefoot run since I started in 2010! Only two tiny blisters, one on a toe on each foot, probably because of the spike in mileage. I...

How did you find the BRS?

When I first started running barefoot, I went crazy searching for information online to learn more about tips, techniques, and how and why others also ran barefoot. I was also hoping to use the BRS as a way to find other local runners who were also interested in barefoot running. The community...

I am running Double Trouble as well. Still not sure what I will be wearing but it will probably be Merrell Trail Gloves.
