    Heat Blisters

So apparently really hot pavement can cause blisters. Picked up a couple really big ones yesterday and a few little ones. Guess its vff or lunas until they heal and perhaps I'll reconsider my hot day running plans. :-)

    I'm the only one?

I ran in a big race Thursday morning. 8500+ people. 5 miler called the Boulevard Bolt. Best I could tell I was the only barefoot runner. There was a light dusting of VFF's and other minimalist shoes. It was a cold start (38) but set to warm up quickly. The road had just been repaved a couple of...

    Merrel Naked foot 5k

I was checking out this race and there is a link on their page to the local barefoot running club. I got excited. A chance to meet more strange people like us. Shoes are loud

July 4th was my second race in VFFs. There were a lot of people and I started in the middle of the herd. The first half mile was almost deafening. I had forgotten how much noise regular shoe make. I'm used to the light pat pat pat of my feet.

    Night before a race

I love the night before a race. I can hardly sleep. It's a mixture of excitement and nervous. My stomach rolls. The adrenalin is already flowing. Then there is the feeling on the start line. 4 - 500 people all pumped up. The air is buzzing with energy. What a way to get high. :D

    Hello from Nashville

Hi all. Newbie here. Ive been running in vibrams since December. Having a blast. I had not been able to run for over a year because of a knee injury until I found vibrams. No knee pain or swelling. That first mile knocked me on my butt. But all is well now.
