Anybody care to share links to some favorite barefoot running sites (besides this one, of course)? I've enjoyed Ken Bob's and Jason's sites, and several others from links that folks have posted in their replies to various questions. But I'm probably missing out on some good ones, so if you've got a favorite on any aspect of barefoot running, please share :)

The only site you need is this one right here. ;)

Well, they say variety is the spice of life, don't they? :)

Actually, I did check out the Runner's World forum and was surprised at how "unfriendly" some of the posters were there, at least when a disagreement arose. That seems not ever to be the case here, from what I've seen and participated in. So, as far as forums are concerned, I think I'll hang out here.

I was thinking more along the lines of other resources, along the lines of Jason's site, that sort of thing. No dis meant to this site; you know I like it (I've got the medals to prove it, too :)).

And thank you for your continue patronage. ;)

Unfortunately, for most of its existence, 3-1/2 years now, has been overrun by rude people. Sad that still is the case. We keep a friendly atmosphere here. I think it has to do with the feeling that this is a private club, although we're open to all. And it helps that we keep the forums divided, so that shoe talk stays where it should. You wouldn't believe how many shoe conversations end up in arguments! It's like geez, people, really!

So, can we conclude that running shoes not only cause all sorts of unnecessary injuries, but may in fact also be responsible for the breakdown in civil society? :)

I knew it!!!!
That is why I have shunned the shoes as much as possible.

I always thought Paprika was the spice of life...or maybe it was Coriander....I can't rightly remember....

When I first got in to BFR, I tooled around and found some random BFR sites, but this one seems to have the most activity...

B'sides, which of those other sites have their own Pirate? I mean, really...

While not really a barefoot running site, I like the forum on www.birthdayshoes.com. Its pretty similar to the stuff discussed here. There is also a google group that is pretty good. Search for "huaraches" and you should find it. There are a few guys who post religiously there and are really knowledgeable about barefoot running

Of course this site is the best.

That 'other' site is where I got my first exposure to BRS. It seemed like the friendly folks I got to know there all moved here. I hardly ever go there, anymore. Heck, I hardly go here, anymore. So little time. But I'd rather spend what little time I have here. And even though I hardly ever post, I'm often lurking and reading. Just so shy and retiring.
Anyway, when someone asks me for info about BFR, I send them here and to the web site of the Harvard researchers who published an article in Nature on foot strike patterns of barefoot vs. shod runners. There are several pages on this web site, but the one about biomechanics is my favorite:

This is the Google group Big Joel pointed out: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/huaraches

It was started by BF Ted way back when he started his site. Some of the former RW posters moved over there, but most are unique to that site. They tend to post quite a few non-running topics, but it's always fascinating. Should you post there, don't ask about gravity propelling you forward. ;)

That's quite the list Bare.

Here you witness the truly diseased state of my obsessive-compulsive mind.

Actually, taking notes and organizing references is a lot of what I do. Most of those bfr bookmarks are from last year, the general running stuff is from this last spring. I just wish I would've bookmarked more of the stuff I read over the summer, when I was reading more research-type articles, but I was too lazy to bookmark them. Dumb.

Less about shoes here... More about barefoot running.

I like that.

The "Other" place had some jacka$$ trolls and ended up banning a few good folks who posted there.

Speaking of Chaser... Anyone seen the kid?
