Soleful pleasure--can it become too much of a good thing?

Sorry to hear that Nick. What did you do to provoke such a harsh retribution from the gods? Say a hail mary and you'll be exempted.
No idea. I wish I knew what I did because it sucks. TJ in another post told me to figure out what causes it(heartburn) and stay away so I could get off the prilosec. Unfortunately, it would be easier to write a list of things I can eat than can't eat. I mean water even flares it up, what's with that? Water is supposed to be the lifeblood of us humans right? Thankfully I can still eat meat with no problems, but some veggies really cause it to flare up along with most fruits. Even some pizza crusts cause it to flare up. Weird...

The tingling and itching feeling is believed to be caused by new capillaries being formed, blood flow. I used to get this all the time in the beginning, then it subsides and goes away.
I wonder if the tingling is caused by an accelerated rate of capillary development, due to the abrasiveness of running on asphalt and concrete, as opposed to running over a smoother surface like a well-compacted path, or indoor track. After over a year of pretty consistent BFR, it's never subsided for me, but gets more intense the rougher the surface. Perhaps if I always ran on relatively smooth asphalt or at least over the same consistency of rough surface, it would eventually taper off, kind of like the way a lot of people describe marital relations. Perhaps variation and a certain threshold of stimulus are key to getting one's sole's rocks off. Am I husbanding my feet properly?

Hahahahaha! You crack me up dude. My feet tend to do this more when I DON'T go barefoot for a few days and then do. Seems when I have longer breaks it gets worse so I will have to go for at least some good barefoot walks. Not sure why the breaks seem to do it really. Although last night I did a walk over crushed gravel, so I dunno...

The day after a good run, my soles feel all tingly, like they've just come. Yesterday I ran somewhat fast over some easy gravel on my trail run and today my feet are in an especially pleasurable state. I wonder if the rougher the surface, the more I'll become addicted to BFR, and if I should seek help on a daytime show. Please advise.

See, this is what happens when I go to work...I miss out on stuff like this. Someone started a thread about whether barefoot runners are kinkier....based on your statement, above, I think the question is: Are bare feet kinkier? Next thing you know, you'll be buying these things and wearing them upside down, just to get your fix.

They need to do some research on this, since it is fascinating. It always seemed the harsher the surface, more friction build-up allowed, it would itch more. I was always fine by morning, until the next run of course. ;)

Thank you - that boggled the mind.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...

Funny, I find the next morning is when it's most intense. Clearly a poorly conducted study is in order to sort this all out into hastily drawn conclusions.

So you need to use BDSM to achieve that state? Ouch!
This is the sad conclusion I've been left with. I hope to leverage it into minor celebrity status next week as I bare my sole on Dr. Phil's show next week. Meanwhile, tomorrow I'm going back to the same trail that treats me so badly. I blame it all on the rusty nail I stepped on when I was 7, and the warm experience of having an attractive, semi-exotic nurse administer the tetanus shot shortly afterwards. Now running BF on abusive surfaces feels like a neurological homecoming.
