If I can run 5K by next

If I can run 5K by next October I MIGHT try to do the Naked Foot 5K in Nashville. But other than that I'm just running to get in shape (and at some point to help stay in shape) so have no real desire to run competitively.

The Naked Foot 5K would really be just for the social aspect of it, because it's the closest location to me, and because I also love the city of Nashville.

My plans so far: Tri-Cities

My plans so far:

Tri-Cities Half Feb 26th

Maybe Badger Mountain Challenge 15K March 31st

Eugene Marathon Apr 29th

Maybe Bloomsday May 6th

Thinking about a sprint Tri in July

Maybe a full Tri sometime after the sprint

Janson, I did one sprint tri,

Janson, I did one sprint tri, and it was a blast! The swimming kicked my arse though, but that was my first swim in over a year, and my first long (400 meters) ever...

Patrick, you should be able to run a 5k by then! Races are fun, even if your not competing.

Yeah I know, but usually I

Yeah I know, but usually I can't spare the money. If it were like 10 bucks I might feel more inclined.

Patrick, thats what you get

Patrick, thats what you get for driving a Honda!!!! OH SNAP!!!!!

Nick, I dont worry about money. It doesnt tend to care about me very much, so why should I care too much about it?

Feb - Kaohsiung Half-Marathon

Feb - Kaohsiung Half-Marathon (actually 23k)

May - Bayshore Marathon (hoping of setting my fastest marathon ever)

pfft my Integra barely requires any upkeep or repairs, despite having over 300K miles. My wife's Corolla on the other hand, THAT car is the money pit!

Man.... Always gotta hate on

Man.... Always gotta hate on the Toyotas.... lol! Its alright, Im more of a German guy myself!

I love VW's for their power

I love VW's for their power they put out from a small engine. They are a lot of fun to drive. Although, I haven't driven any newer than '96, so not sure if they've changed or not in that aspect. From everything I've heard their reliability now a days is crap.

dang Chaser, always gotta be

dang Chaser, always gotta be taking threads off-topic lol

I like some models from just about every car manufacturer out there. My family has been a Toyota family since the late 80's. I don't know what it is about my wife's car, though, maybe not maintained like it should have been or what.

But then again, my old 1989 Camry 5-speed that I learned to drive on was on its 3rd transmission at 154K miles when I sold it in 2001. The Integra is still on its original engine and trans with all original internals at 308K, and can still get 35 MPG highway if I'm easy on it. We're lucky to ever break 29 on the Corolla.

My 2nd car was my fave, a

My 2nd car was my fave, a Honda LX-i 88. I put her away at 330,000 miles and still got $150 for scrap metal. Lol.

Geez JLDelon, thats alot of

Geez JLDelon, thats alot of racing!!!

Oh, back on topic of off topicness, we just bought a Sequoia, viva la Toyota!

We had a 2000 VW Golf TDI

We had a 2000 VW Golf TDI until Hubby wrecked it. We also have a 2002VW JettaTDI that is my car that I like.

Patrick, I plan on doing that 5k too. There are a series of runs that are fun called I Run For The Party. They are getting overcrowded now though.

I think I finally have a more

I think I finally have a more realistic idea of the year:

In bold are the more for sure ones. I really hope I can get away during the busy time in December to run White Rock. After finishing Rocky I am going to really start doing speed work and trying to get some good times. I have my 5K under 20 minutes, which was a big goal a year ago, so now I want to start working on speed on 50K and below.

2012

January – None

February 3rd – Rocky Raccoon 50 Miler

February 19th-Paramount 5k

March 25 –Cap 10K

April 7th- Hells Hills 50K (faster pace, willing to DNF)

July 21-Mule Shoe 60K

December 2nd-White Rock Marathon (fast as possible)

After that, it's radio silence until May 2013, when I hope we can look at doing R2R2R...

February 4th - Sedona

February 4th - Sedona Marathon (Sedona, AZ)

The rest of the year hangs on this race (no pressure right). If I have a good marathon with no knee pain, I will sign up for the Red Mountain 50k (Ivins, UT) in April. First Ultra attempt. If I have knee pain after then no races and I will just work on barefoot miles.

I really love the 5k and 10k races, but I just don't have the time or money to register for those this year.
