Looking down the road I am going to need some garrison boots. I am looking at these and was wondering if anyone had experience with them. I want to thin down the soles and take out some heel but still have a "defined heel" so I dont have any problems.

A guy on my last TDY had the sage version (these), and all I could do was stare in jealousy. They looked significanly more flexible and lighter, and I'm definitely considering them too. Unfortunately I have three pairs of Corcorans already, and the cobbler didn't want to cut any of them down for me.

Have you tried the Rocky S2V?

Have you tried the Rocky S2V? I have a pair for warm weather and feel like they're the closest to the ground and most agile of any AF boots I've had.

Yeah it seems like all toe boxes on military boots are very narrow. Fortunately they make all the boots in wide and even sometimes extra wides.

@tom- I had the SV2's for a while as my rucking boots. I am short (5'4") and they came up very high on my shins/calves. It was annoying to wear them for extended periods of time. Also the SV2's had alot of cushioning for inserts. I never got around to wearing them without the insoles.
