Hello fellow barefooters,

I am looking for something to get for when I go visit my family later this month. I really do not have any "shoes" right now, as I am barefoot all the time. So I found these Connect 4mm sandals and they seem to be exactly what I need to go around the malls and markets (flea) on the West Coast. What do you guys think? Anyone try them yet?

But I am planning on keeping my good rugged feet in form by going on mountain hikes.

Thanks,

Joe

I have the "cut it out

I have the "cut it out yourself" invisible shoes, and I love them! I'm guessing these ones come pre-cut, but you will probably want to do some trimming.

If you get em, post up how you like...

you can't go wrong with these

you can't go wrong with these Joe. I met Steven last year at the Running Event in Austin and he was showing these new versions there. I was very impressed with them to the point where I was asking for a pair right then. The subtle changes he made are are really good and I say if all you want is something to throw on your feet then you'll be really happy with these.

So basically they just

So basically they just developed their own sole material instead of using the Vibram Cherry? Thats pretty cool I guess. My invisible shoes are still running strong. Or really walking strong since I use them as my walking shoes.

Thanks alot guys for the

Thanks alot guys for the positive feedback, I just put an order in!

I called and Steven actually picked up. What a nice guy, cant wait to try them out!

Found these shoes yesterday

Found these shoes yesterday on google... placed my order yesterday and they shipped same day! Just now noticed this tread talking about them. Good to know these come well recommended. Can't wait!

Yeah Ajw, while talking to

Yeah Ajw, while talking to Steven he also mentioned that they will be shipped today. And he also said that the most important thing is to make a toe hole that is smooth with a drill or a hole punch.

We used a drill and ours came

We used a drill and ours came out good. We have the old Vibram version. I don't wear mine as often as my husband, but they are good shoes. And it's fun to make your own shoes. And Steve is awsome.

Steven is awesome! I have the 4mm ones and I love them. Very comfortable. I'm a big klutz so that new tread is really good for me. Here is the list of why the new-and-improved version is better...

Keep me posted on your thoughts!

Steven is the best!! Just

Steven is the best!! Just watched the video on the new soles, they look great.

I have the old cherry vibram do it yourself invisible shoes and they have held up well. You can use the same invisible shoe principal and make your own leather "dress" huaraches too. I went to Tandy Leather and bought supplies, they were pretty enexpensive when it's all said and done.

Joe - hope you love you invisible shoes as much as I do!

I have these sandals

I have these sandals (surprise, surprise). They are head and shoulders over the old model, which was already great. They are my new road favorites. Haven't tried them on the trail yet.

Somehow, having shoes that

Somehow, having shoes that are "head and shoulders" better makes it sound like you're wearing them wrong

OK guys and gals, I finally

OK guys and gals, I finally managed to put them together. I've been busy moving to a new place.

So we used soldering iron to make the toe hole, which worked wonderfully. We also trimmed some extra slack on top with a sharp razor blade.

As soon as I put them on, I knew these would be perfect. I ran in the city with them and what a breeze they are to run in. Feels like you're running barefooted. Absolutely amazing! My form felt sooo natural.

Then I wore them coming here to visit my family in the San Juaqine Valley of California. I got so many looks in the airport as I passed by people, especially in Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. I even dashed to my gate at one point when they called my name on the intercom.

Overall, these are the best "shoes" to wear when around civilized society or when you need extra protection from rough or hot terrain.

Great job Steven! A+++

I put my pair to a good test

I put my pair to a good test last night. I've been wanting to run again on the shoulder of a highway that runs near my house. I did this last year in shoes but haven't tried again this year yet since switching to BFR.

I adjusted the cord to fit more snugly than at first and this fixed my problem with them shifting while I ran... they felt great!

The shoulder worked well and the few pieces of gravel that I stepped on (blacktop shoulder) were bearable. I'm not so sure I would've wanted to step on them barefoot at this point in my progression (1 month of BFR'ing) but with these it was fine.

I only put in 2 miles but was delighted by how well they stayed put and performed.

Thanks again to InvisibleShoe.com for this great addition to my BFR training!

I have 2 pairs (one thin sole

I have 2 pairs (one thin sole vibram material & one the new sole), but I am still struggling w/ the lacing. It seems like the new ones would be easier to lace because of the wings near the ankles that are prepunched but does anyone have any suggestions to make my huraches more comfortable?

I already know the general stuff (too tight btwn the toes --> loosen the back). I've tried Steve's youtube video (that ends in a single loop) & a second way (on steve's website) where you tie a knot in the middle of the string, thread them both thru the hole between the toes, then thru the holes @ the heels & cross behind the ankle.

but I can't get my old ones (vibram material) to stop feeling so floppy. Do I need to trim more from around my foot so the sole is more like a footprint since I have some extra vibram material around the toes & in front of the toes. i'm still working on my tying technique w/ the new ones. Love the new design changes.

any & all suggestions are welcome! s/s.
