Show Us Your Ink!

Extra body parts, not that

Extra body parts, not that I'm aware of, could be handy in the future though, fresh areas for more ink.

Oh, geez.  Did we have

Oh, geez. Did we have something to do with that? And that's a good thing, yes? At least you kept the Morton's Toe!

TJ, are you trying to say I have your foot print on the back of my leg. Gee, I am honoured. I thought that was the best barefoot pic I could find out there and wanted to keep a piece of BRS with me at all times.

No, that's not my footprint.

No, that's not my footprint. Ha!

Bob, DUDE! Is there any part

Bob, DUDE! Is there any part of your body that doesn't have ink on it? Wait. Um. Maybe we don't want to know...

:D

There are a few locations

There are a few locations that are currently ink free, but I am working on those ;-) Tattooing is very addictive, even my needle phobic wife has even ended up with two and is currently planning her third.

This one says GET SOME! And

This one says GET SOME! And yes it is just above my butt... I was young and didn't think about that being a bad place to put those words.

I also have one on my ribs.

Ok, gonna try this. Here is

Ok, gonna try this. Here is my first one, right ankle. Had it done in July of 96.

The next one is on my hip. Casper the friendly ghost. It was my second, but I'm not real sure when I got it. lol

Third one was done about 3 years ago. The little lady bug at the top was added a year later for my mom. She always wanted a ladybug tat so after she passed on I had it added for her.

The last one is a work in progress. Pretty much complete outline. Is a vine of Cherokee Roses. The centers will be gold and the petals pale pink. Had the outline done a couple of months back. My tat guy, and close friend, was in a serious motorcycle crash though so it has been put on hold for now. He'll be keeping his hand, can wiggle fingers and is home after 2 months in hospital, but not sure if he'll ever tat again.

I have just a few tattoos. I

I have just a few tattoos. I am currently at 12 and will be adding another one in October when we go to Kuaui. I am having some difficulty getting pics loaded from this computer so I'll have load the images another time. Maybe later this weekend. But my tattoos (in the order in which they were acquired):

1. An eagle with a banner with "Semper Fidelis" on my right shoulder. Got it less than three weeks after completing boot camp. It is an "older" looking style.

2. Claws ripping out of my left ribcage with the stars and stripes showing underneath. One would think that after a tattoo on the ribs, I'd learn and stop...but no...it continues.

3. Very detailed image of the flag raising on Mt. Suribachi. (Iwo Jima flag raising). Amazing work. The artist did it completely free hand just from looking at a poster I brought in.

4. Tribal around my left bicep. It is really the only other tattoo besides #1 that I took off of the wall. A co-worker was whining about how much it hurt going around the arm (his didn't even go all the way around) so I went out and got one that evening. The artist did use a new technique he was experimenting with to do the gray scale, so that was cool.

5. My last name across my shoulders. My dad said that it was so they knew who I was when I passed out at a party. Hell, I was the last man standing at the party...hahaha.

6. Life/Death ambigram on my right forearm. By far the smallest of my tattoos.

7. A very long set of solid black lines running from the middle of my left thigh to the side of my left foot. Around my left calf there are four bands that interweave with the black lines. The lines connect to one point at the thigh and at the foot. Basically it is a visual description of my blending of physics with my fascination of nature/pagan/wiccan worship. I could go on with this topic for hours...so it's probably best not to get me started...hahaha. This tattoo took three sessions (~4 hours, ~3 hours, and ~3 hours). Part of this tattoo is visible in my profile pic.

8. A tribal I designed on my lower back. I got it in Okinawa and wasn't able to take the best of care while it was healing so I need to get it redone some day.

9. A necklace of skulls and bones. It was a toss up between skulls and bones or spiders and webs. This particular artist was better at skulls...so skulls won.

10. A bulldog on my right arm below the eagle in #1. Below the bulldog is USMC in red, white, and blue lettering. Although I did not purposely plan it this way, my first and last tattoos in the Marine Corps are located in the same area of my body. Also on this day I got my nipples pierced. Yeah, I was a glutton for punishment that day...hahaha.

11. A polynesian style design in the figure of a dragon on my right foot. It can be seen in my profile pic. I got this in Maui two years ago.

12. I continued the polynesian design with a large piece on my right thigh in Oahu last year. The design consists of a spearhead, weave, leaves, shark teeth, and a series of lines representing waves on the water as you look at the horizon. It runs from just above my knee to about 2/3 of the way up my thigh and from the inside of my thigh to the outside. It was about 4 1/2 hours of work.

I plan to continue the polynesian inspired tattoos this year in Kuaui and am right now considering something with water/waves on my right ribcage. I am also considering something on my abdomen. If I do that, I think I would like to have a series of tikis done. I have a few months, so I'm going to think about it some more. Yes, I'm probably addicted and now I've managed to get my partner addicted. He was the only one in his family that didn't have a tattoo and said he'd never get one. Well, it only took me four years to get a tattoo on him...hahaha. He got one in Maui. He also got one in Oahu and is already talking about what he is going to get in Kuaui.

Dirtbag, I had to go and look at your location because after seeing your tats, I figured you had to be from Hawai'i. Some day we will move there...some day...

My big rib tiki is my Hawaii

My big rib tiki is my Hawaii tattoo. Moved here from CA a few years ago after being dragged kicking and screaming back on to the plane during vacations. Looking forward to seeing all those tattoos uploaded. Sounds like some cool stuff. Gotta love the rib work.

I currently have 4 tattoos,

I currently have 4 tattoos, but I'm looking for a 5th. I'm thiking something to do with Barefoot running, caust it's something I needed...

My first Tattoo was back in my crazy-hair on fire-gotta do 160mph on a crotch-rocket and touch my knee to the ground roadracing days. I thought I'd ride a bike forever, so what better than a Teen-Calvin doing a stand up wheelie on a Ducati?!!(I know Ducs don't have side pipes, but it looked like it was missing something.) I actually drew this while I waited cause they didn't have anything I liked. The lady that owned the shop is the one that stuck me and she offered me a job. I needed something steady or I would have been all over it! haha!

Left upper arm.

I got this one cause tribals were all the rage and I was sportin some guns and the lady dig ink. Ok, really it was on a whim. I don't even drink, so I don't have any excuse. This one concerns me a little cause it was supposed to be Japanese for "Power", but when I Google, Japanese for power, THIS does not come up!! Probably says "Dumb-ass"...no idea...but it looks cool!! Haha. No, it does not go all the way around. Not a pain issue...just cost more and I'm cheap...frugal...I meant frugal...

Right arm, but mirror image.

Here is a closeup...if you read Japanese...ugh...in a mirror...will you tell me what it says? LOL!

I got both of the following tattoos in Boston picking my wife up from a business trip/ our honeymoon...sorta. Kinda weird...sight see, Baseball game, harbor cruise...tattoos...why not?!! Both pics are in the hotel right after, so a little reddish.

This one is on my inside right forearm. It's may daughter's name. My wife has "Mrs. H" on her wrist with the same "H".

34877.jpg

For my son, on the left inside forearm, I went with a Calvin and Hobbs looking font cause he's just like that kid!(and me...darn that Mother's curse!!!)

Alright...that's all for now. I'll post up when I get my next one.

For some reason the only one I could find is when it was new. :D
Lilacs are my favourite flower, and they have other sentimental feelings attached to them.

Peace,
