Toes on Roads Competition

congratulation to Mokaman for this beautifull 20,1 Km :hurting: but it's only the second day... ;):D

thanks...it was a beautiful single track forest run... 2.5 hours of foot massage.:barefoot:

We have tried a few different formats now and some do seem to work better than others.
Perhaps the monthly competition could be an all-singing-all-dancing-egg running-all-encompassing spreadsheet.

Please post your preference below and Gueng and I will see what we can come up with

Paul

The June version is better than the May version, team and individual parts combined looks good for now but probably need more feedback from the newer barefooters on what they would like to see in there.

Victory Ceremony for the May ToRC

We logged a total distance of 4903 km run by 39 members. 2992 km (61%) were run skin-to-ground. So, all three numbers seem to stabilize themselves on quite a good level (although it would be great to see even more people participating!).

DNEchris from New York prooved invincible again, winning the total (361 km) as well as the barefoot (335 km) categories.
Christian Lemburg from Aachen, however, is not far behind (297 km) by barefoot mileage.

The winning team – barefoot (1014 km) as well as in total (1964 km) - is again France, no matter if the ranking is done by km or by points :)
France also contributed the most participants (17).

It is my pleasure to welcome a new team in ToRC: Belgium, directed by petit-pied!

Congratulations to the champion and to the top-performing team!

Many thanks to all participants! Keep up the good performance for the June competition.

All the best,
Martin (gueng)

Maybe I could keep up with them if I ran in a rather flat area. But Marburg is a mountain city built on two steep hills, so especially the downhill parts provide quite some stress to my soles and to other parts of my locomotor system. I found that ~60 km per week are my limit under these conditions.

Mostly I'm only running to and from work :) It's much more enjoyable than taking the subway!

Victory Ceremony for the June ToRC

We logged a total distance of 4446 km run by 42 members. 3196 km (72%) were run skin-to-ground. This marks a new record by barefoot distance.
DNEchris from New York is again our individual top-scorer, winning the total (366 km) as well as the barefoot categories, and he ran 100% barefoot.
The winning nation – barefoot (1011 km) as well as in total (1752 km) - is again France with the largest team (18 runners).
It is great to welcome a new participating nation. This time it's Portugal.
The US team was small (4) but extremely effective with nearly 200 km per member.

Congratulations to the champion and to the winning team!
Many thanks to all participants - keep on running!

All the best,

Martin (gueng)

Victory Ceremony for the July ToRC
(sorry, I am late this time due to some holiday-related constraints)

In July we had a rather poor attendance with only 31 members.
We logged a total distance of 3163 km. 2386 km (75%) were run skin-to-ground. The increase in relative barefoot distance is probably caused by summertime :).

DNEchris from New York increased his distance again, winning both categories (427 km; 100% barefoot). He delivered a remarkable, continous performance in all months since the re-issue of ToRC in February!

The French team was again the strongest one by participant number (14) and distance (1211 km total / 778 km bf), followed by Germany (10 / 935 km / 713 km).

Congratulations to the champion and to the winning team!
It would be great if our overall performance improved in August.

All the best,
Martin (gueng)

Thanks Martin. I seem to be so busy with other things at the moment I am finding it difficult to find time for running. I'm on holiday for 2 weeks starting next week, so maybe I can get a few miles in then :)
