Mileage Reporting Week 21 2015

Nice 5 mile run Tuesday at 5:00 am 73 deg. f., 80% rh.
No animal sightings.
To overcast for moon and stars.
still a very nice time.

sunday: very squishy, sometimes rainy, often flooded and muddy, mostly barefoot hike. Got home just before the really awful hail/wind/thunder came along. Fun hike, but slow going.

monday: walk to and from work, about 5 mi, gym in evening
tuesday: run around the neighborhood, am
wednesday: trail run
thursday: longer trail run, no idea on distance, but a ways over an hour. first bike commute to work. Took less time than when I drive.
 
Took the hilly route, barefoot, again on Monday to the local athletic field and went around the track five times before cutting through the park and into the streets again. Meandered around the neighborhood passing young people heading to school before heading down to my area to stop at Starbucks for a coffee; racked up a modest 5.8 miles. Then walked .5 miles to my house to get ready for work. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I ran barefoot a mile +/- each day to the gym and then walked about .5 miles home using a shortcut over the hill behind my house. Switching back to my lake run on Friday, I put in 4.1 barefoot miles and then added another 1.1 miles after a stop at the gym for water and some chitchat with my gym buddies. This morning, I walked to the gym and then went shopping in the farmers market to add another 2 barefoot miles to the week's total. I might return to the farmers market in a bit to get some lunch and more seedless, home-made, blackberry jam. Have a great weekend!
 
Monday - 4.75 mi easy bike and 3.75 easy run. Avg a little over 10 min/mi. Was still a bit sore and run down from the 10k 2 days prior so just took it easy.

Tues-Thur didn't get any runs or bikes in. Working nightshift Wed&Thur and did some stairs at work but that's about it.

Friday - had to get a run in but didn't feel like it from the 3 days off and turning around from nights. Forced myself out and did 6.5 miles.

Saturday - Had a couple hours to kill after dropping off my son at a birthday party. Haven't got many long bike rides in this year and had been looking forward to one, so took the bike to a nearby bike trail in Columbus and 28.2 miles. Still have yet to break 30 this year. Was a beautiful warm and sunny day! Later that evening a did another 10 miles running an errand into town and back.

Sunday - Been a while since I got a long run in, but I didn't feel up to a real long run so went for a shorter long run of 12 miles. Felt really slow at first, and it was hot. Just not feeling it. Got a good warmup in, stretched out after the first mile and took off again. Still felt like a slug for the next mile then started to push myself. By the time I knew it I was running mid to low 7 minutes, and actually feeling better. Decided just to go with it and see if I could keep the pace up. Ended up with 3 miles in the 6's and a bunch more in low/mid 7's. Took a 1/2 mile walk in the middle and another 1/2 mile walk at the end. Excluding the walks, I averaged 7:39 pace (and that's including the first two warmup miles >10 minute miles). Was a bit sore after that one!

Week mileage totals 22.25 on foot and 43 on bike.
