Mileage Reporting 6th week of 2015

Wednesday and Thursday, I went on short BF jogs to and from the gym totaling about 3 miles each day before BF workouts. Then went on a 5 mile jog around the lake on Friday and a short 1.5 mile jog on Saturday to the gym. All together, it's about 32 BF miles this week! My ankles are stiff and sore to remind me that they worked hard this week so I am taking it easy on Sunday. Somewhere else we talked about BF obsession; am I there with jogging in my bare feet?? LOL

Tristan, I am with you.

Over here in Germany, after the snow is gone, everything is for the worse: wet, cold weather, salt and grit everywhere. Over the weekend, we had some dry hours, and suddenly you could see all this white stuff on roads and pavements, yuck. Then of course it gets wet again, and there you go. On top of that it seems that our city really wants to take care of us and liberally sprinkled all pavements with this nasty gravel that seems to be designed to cut feet apart. I sometimes wonder if this stuff is rated for "cutting edge abrasiveness", and they got the top brand. Sigh. Why can't they just take more care walking on snow. It is not that hard, is it.

I'd much, much rather run on snow than on all the stuff that appears when it is gone.

I wonder if it is really possible to "adjust" to these conditions (meaning tougher feet), to me it seems that the combination of cold, wet, and salt just makes for tender feet.

Anyhow, it was a bad week, caught the flu with fever, and my wife sensibly insisted that I don't run with that, so lost two days, and ended a 562 day streak. Well, so it goes.

Let's hope we have some better runs this week!

Here is why I run bf when there is snow down but now that its in the 40's I can't!
I just can't take the grit. Need tougher feet. That stuff is sharp and 2 mi and my feet burn for a couple days. Its not just a little here or there its like almost a gravel road in spots lol.

Wet, cold grit like that is not fun. Another reason the "greenbelt" paths are appreciated by me. They don't have to do all of that for the cars.

Not sure what greenbelt paths are, songbird. I typically run on the paved bike paths (rail trails) but they have too much snow and ice typically unless there is a good length of warm weather. We had some good long thaws in January that allowed me to run on them again but now they are a horrible frozen mess. Just no good options around here barefoot. I know Yvonne runs roads but she's got tougher feet than I lol. The main roads are usually less gritty than my roads, but they are a bit too far for me to easily utilize. I don't like too, but minimalist shoes or the treadmill do serve a purpose during times like this.

That's what "greenbelt" paths are, I guess because around here they are along the river which is distinctly green compared to the rest of the high desert?
