Moreover really usefull when "silent" running barefoot ....
I've already surprised a cat and a dog those last few weeks while arriving behind those innocent victims, with this bell on, I could have warned these two other barefoot runners.

My last long run I spooked a cat too. I was just about within touching distance when the cat saw me and it flipped up in the air and spazzed out - funniest thing I've seen while running in a long time, just like those videos online of funny cats.
I startled my fair share of runners, but startling a deer was the ultimate. I once almost tripped over a skunk during a night run too. Luckily it didn't startle him.
