Hello from California

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't replied or been around, work has REALLY gotten in the way this week. I'm doing my shorter runs in huraches (xero shoes sensori) and my longer runs in my Altra Instinct. What the heck has Altra done with barfing out 15 models, the newest of which has like 50mm of cushioning???? Right now ALL of my miles are on treadmill.

It seems that Altra is focusing on zero drop, rather than reducing stack height. It also seems that Altra's customers prefer to run on harsh surfaces and utilize maximum cushioning, rather than choosing more compliant surfaces which may require less cushioning.

I can sympathize with the hard surfaces. My treadmill has adjustable cushion so I vary that. But I have no dirt to run on anywhere near me, it's all sidewalk or asphalt. Though several years ago when I seriously trained barefoot I greatly preferred concrete for a running surface. Unless I could find a painted line of the road to run on. those things are like butter....
